A Police Officer, a game show host, his daugher, a child genius from his show, an ex-child genius, a dying old man, his wife, his nurse, and Tom Cruise, combined to form the most obscure movie in recent history. From the writer and director of "Boogie Nights," the film attempts to tell a tale of several seemingly unrelated people and how their lives joins through a series of coincidental events. That kinda reminds us of "Chungking Express," just with a bigger cast, and in English. First, we like to say that we enjoyed the acting of all involved. Tom Cruise deserves an award for his supporting role. He made me cry at one point. Maybe it was just the moment, I don't know, but I think his acting helped. His teachings in the movie should be put into publication so it could really be put into practice. The women in the film played their parts extremely well and was at times annoyingly unsettling to watch. Although the film was built up well, it failed to conclude solidly. The movie seems as if the writer ran out of ideas to gel the ending perfectly and decided to deter our attention with the weirdest scene of all time (This scene should be enough to draw you to the theatres). Another shortcoming of this movie is the stereotyping of people in their roles. Overall, this film deserves 3 go's. A spectacular, unimpressive work.
