Well Alibaba had them forty thieves, sherharazade had a thousand tales. Remember that? the song from Aladdin that was so popular back in 1992? Well, if you want to know more behind the song lyrics, do rent this movie. Could I say it was a good movie? Well, no, it's not the best or anything, but it was interesting enough to watch on a fourteen hour flight and if you have children, it would be a great family film. Let's see, the highlights of this film, it has got to be Jason Scott Lee and Vanessa Mae. Yes, Vanessa Mae, the violinist. Not the Vanessa that sang "Save the Best for Last." This Vanessa was one of those classical/pop violin divas that changed the way people view the violin. Well, She should have stuck to that. In my mind, that was not acting, that was something that most people knew how to do, play acting. As for Jason Scott Lee, it is nice that he got into this movie to be Aladdin and all, but you know, I had higher hopes for this guy. I thought he would make it in the film world where Asian males are typically shunned. I thought...well, it's okay, let's just be happy for him. As for the plot, it is nothing special and nothing new. It is just the old tales that we've learn to love as kids. Good stories with some twists. That's all. 4 go's. It got the one extra go because it really would make a good family film.
