Submitted by: Louise and Bob Starring: Jodie Foster, Chow Yun-Fat, Bai Ling Directed by: Andy Tennant, Caleb Deschanel Genre: Drama A movie about Anna.. can it possibly be horrible? The enthralling tale of Anna will clearly be the film of the millenium. Unfortunately, only if this movie was portraying that particular Anna would it succeed. This piece simply portrays the relationship between the King of Siam (Chow Yun-Fat) and the tutor whom he hired for his many, many, many children (Jodie Foster). It tells a moving story of these two individuals. It gives the viewers a taste of the joys and tribulations that result when the ideas and cultures of the East and West meet. However the most beautiful aspect of this movie is its determination and success in preservering the various cultures it presents. But the end does reinforce the fear that some aspects of life are simply beyond one's control. The movie receives 4 Go's for its wonderful plot and breathtaking sceneries. However, a story on another Anna would have definitely given it the most coveted 5 Go's. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | |
