| A Brief Description of the City.... Kota Kinabalu, the capital of the Malaysian state of Sabah, accommodating a population of three hundred thousand, is also well known as the Jesselton, or, Api-Api.. Kota Kinabalu is a new city, having declared its city status on 2nd February 2000. Places of Interest.... The city is strategically located within the location of numorous tourism attraction spots, amongst which include the Tanjung Aru Beach, the Mousque, State Muzuem, Water Village, open air stalls, Tamu, Gaya Street Sunday Market, or further to that, the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park constituting 5 islands; or futher to that, the world heritage of Kinabalu National Park which takes 2 1/2 hour drive, whereinlthe famous Mount Kinabalu is located. |
