Colson: If you can't tell who this song is about from the title then you are just gonna have to wonder, because I'm not gonna go into detail. If you're someone who doesn't personaly know me, come up to me and aks me at a show and if your cool, I might explain it to you.The song was originaly written in my little version of an open "e" tuning along time ago, (pre-Caulfield)on an acoustic guitar, while I was on vacation in Florida. By the time i had gotten home I had forgotten the tuning I had used but I remember the chord voicings, so I just started playing it in standard tuning. I intended for it to stay acoustic, until I started playing around with it on my electric and I figured out how it should sound. Lately, Thom and I have been playing it in drop-D tuning and it sounds really good that way because it gives it that thick-low end, heavy sound. I've been told it sounds like hardcore Vendetta Red or sometimes like The White Stripes.
Thom: I really like this song. I have no idea who it's allegidly about, I mean I don't know any Annas or anything...but it's great when it's played in drop-D. It gives it a slide feel which in my opinion awsome for the song. |
