"Well, we can't all be characters . . ."

By the power vested in me . . . by me . . . I hereby dedicate this page to all the un-named, un-categorical, unfinished, or just random sketches kicking around in my inspiration and sketch book.
"There, are you guys happy now?"

This one is a profile sketch of an anthropomorphic betta splendens, or Siamese fighting fish, that I did for my character Feldai, the shapeshifter.  The problem for him is that far from being a consciously controllable phenomenon, his body changes seemingly at random.  (His forms are almost always limited to the average representative of a given species, the exception being a very simple hybrid now and again.  The length of time he remains in a given form also varies, ranging from the span of a day to two weeks.  Common to all forms are his gender and approximate level of physical maturity.)  Sometimes he gets powerful, desirable forms like a gryphon, and sometimes he gets a fish.  This particular form was problematic for him, as he shifted on land (a heavy rain kept him from suffocating until he could find water).  Also, the betta is by nature an extremely aggressive fish . . .
