roll with a punch:

In boxing, to move one's head or body in the same direction as an opponent's punch in order to diminish it's effect.

In general use, to deal successfully or vigorously with a downturn in one's fortunues.
redneck:

Originally an unlettered farm laborer, especially from the South, it has now taken on a number of related meanings:
A person who is bigoted, reactionary, prejudiced, narrow-minded.

Frequently used an an intensifier with HARD HAT.
RAMBO:

Strongman hero of a series of global action films with Sylvester Stallone in the leading role.

Rambo,a mightily muscled lone crusader,takes on the evils of the world...in Southeast Asia, in Afghanistan and who knows where next.
Rain check:

When a baseball game or any other outdoor sports event or concert has been postponed or interrupted by rain or other unforseen circumstances,  the spectators are given a ticket to be used at a future performance. This is called a rain check.

In general use "an invitation or requested postponement of an invitation" until a more convenient time.

Use:  "Sorry you can't make it this Saturday. We'll give you a rain check".
