Apres moi le deluge
Reproved for her extravagant expenditures, Madame De Pompadour (1721-64), the witty, beautiful, influentional mistress of Louis XV of France,is said to have replied with characteristic arrogance, "Apres moi le deluge" (After me, the flood). In common parlance, the phrase has come to mean "I don't care what happens after I am dead," or, "After I'm gone, this whole structure will collapse".
