My Rant on Tarot
Rag'nPuss

"Thy Faith hath made thee whole."

I've known about the Tarot since I was a little girl.  I got my first deck when I was 13, but I admit I didnt grasp the concept of it those first couple of years.  So the deck just layed around in my room for quite some time.  My first deck was the Tavaglione Tarot, it was neat and I got it on sale at Hot Topic for 7 bucks.  This deck was pretty complicated for a beginner, it works great for the Kabbalah and it was made especially for it.  This deck I eventually gave to my now boyfriend August.  Who once in his hands divined our future together.  The cards were meant for this lovely creature of mine...
Then, I bought my second Tarot deck which was the Arthurain Tarot, beautifully designed... But again, when I played with the cards I did not feel they were right for me.  So I gave this deck to my aunt who was completely enthralled with them...
Now I'm happy to say I have found my deck.  My mother bought them for me for Christmas of 2002.  It is the Tarot of the Sphynx.  I have always had a link to the Egyptians.  Of course, along with many others, Sumerian, Babylonian, the Hebrews, and Celtic Lore.  I feel comfortable with all these mythos and pay homage to every other religion where the Mage strives for the arcane knowledge of forgotten hidden lore.
Now to those who don't believe in Tarot, it must be what it may that you don't care to open up your eyes to see, or maybe you just weren't meant to.  Everyone must play they're part, even the blind sheep.
And there are those (like my father) who just don't care for it.  To him its a waist of time.  How can you learn anything from a deck of cards?  You only see what you want, he says.  But I beg to differ, with my whole being, my soul, and my life, which I have comitted to Magic.  You will not find what you are looking for, expecpt the Ultimate Truth, the many paths to rightesousness, that lay in those 78 cards.
In Tarot, like everything else in magic, skepticism is only negative drainage.  If you don't believe, if you don't search hard enough down into the inner depths of your soul, you will get nothing, for giving nothing.
Every time I do Tarot I learn something new about myself, who I am, where I came from.  And my past Ancestors, Spiritual Guides in this inner sanctum of my soul, all truths await thy knowing for me.  All you have to do is ask...

"And I do this for a wise purpose; for thus It whispereth to me, according to the working of the Spirit of the Lord which is in me."- Bible
