Female Goddesses that I praise...

Aradia-  Italian,  Queen of the Witches, daughter of Diana.  Aradia is an extremely powerful entity and a protectress of Witches in general. 

Arianrhod-  Welsh,  Goddess of the Stars and reincarnation.  Call on Arianrhod to help with past life memories and difficulties as well as for contacting the Star People.

Artemis-  Greek,  Virgin Huntress; goddess of wild places and wild things; the Huntress; Maiden; Bear Goddess; Moon Goddess; Hunter of Souls; Shape-shifter.  Patroness of singers; protector of young girls; mistress of magic, sorcery, enchantment, pyshic power, women's fertility, purification, woodland medicines, juniper, healing.

Bast/Bastet/Pasht (In her dark aspect)-  Egyptian,  Cat-headed Goddess; mother of all cats; wife of Ptah.  She was indentified with Artemis or Diana who was called the mother of cats.  The living power and the gentle heat of the sunlight.  Lady of the East; associated with the god Sept (Lord of the East).  The cat was Egypt's most sacred animal but the black cat was especially sacred to her; Egyptian physicians used the black cat symbol in healing.  Cats were sacred to her in general, kept in her temple, and embalmed when they died.  To kill a cat meant a death sentence.  Bast carried a sistrum in her right hand and a basket in her left.  She was generally draped in green.  Goddess of fire, the Moon, childbirth, fertility, pleasure, benevolence, joy, jokes, sexual rites, music, dance, protection against disease and evil spirits, warmth, all animals (especially cats), intuition, healing, generosity, and marriage. 

Charities/Graces- Greek, Triad of Moon Goddesses.  Usually portrayed nude and dancing.  They were Aglaia (the shining one, glorious), Thalia (the flowering one, abundance), and Euphrosyne (the one who makes glad, joy).

Circe-  Greek,  "She-Falcon";  Moon Goddess.  Called the death-bird.  She was the fate-spinner, the weaver of destinies.  She was the goddess of physical love, sorcery, enchantments, evil spells, vengeance, dark magic, witchcraft, cauldrons. 

Erinyes/Eumenides
-  Greek,  "The angry ones"; "Avengers"; "the kindly ones";  Children of Eternal Night; Daughters of Earth and Shadow.  Punishers of sins, they had serpents twined in their hair and carried torches and whips.  They tracked down those who wrongly shed blood, especially a mother's blood.  Three virgin goddesses:  Allecto (beginnings, unending), Tisiphone (continuation, retaliation), and Megaerea (death and rebirth, envious fury).  Revenge, justice against those who broke customs or taboos, social and bloodline laws.  Later identified with fairies.

The Fates/Moerae/Moirai-  Greek  Three deities who decided on the destiny of each individual.  Clothos spun the thread of life, Lachesis measured it out, and Atropos cut it.  Invoked at marriage for a happy union.

Freyja/Freya-  Norse,  "Lady"; Great Goddess;  "She who shines over the sea"; sister of Freyr and daughter of Njord; Vanir Goddess.  She was married to the God Od who mysteriously disappeared.  She is the mistress of cats, leader of the Valkyries, a shape-shifter, the sage or "sayer" who inspires all sacred poetry.  Thirteen is her number and Friday her day.  Love, beauty, animals, sex, cats, childbirth, fire, horses, enchantments, witchcraft, gold, wealth, trance, jewelry, wisdom, foresight, magic, luck, long life, fertility, the Moon, the sea, death, music, flowers, poetry, writing, protection.

Gaea/Gaia- Greek  "Borad-bosomed"; Great Mother; Universal Mother; Supreme Goddess; Earth Goddess; Mother Earth; Primeval Prophetess; most ancient Earth; omnipotent.  She was the greatest of oracles.  Sacred oaths were made in her name.  She was the goddess of motherhood, agriculture fertility, marriage, dreams, trance, divination, oracles, healing.

Hathor/Athor/Athyr/Het-Hert (House of the Womb Above)-  Egyptian,  "The Golden"; Queen of the West (or the dead); ''the Lady of the Sycamore"; Mother Goddess, similar to Aphrodite.  The Seven Hathors, or Holy Midwives, were associated with the seven planets.  Cosmic goddess associated with Ra; she carried his Sacred Eye.  The Mirror and Sistrum were sacred to her.  Hathor's appearance could be cow-headed goddess or human-headed women with horns, cows ears, and heavy tresses.  She liked to embody herself in the sistrum to drive away all evil spirits.  New Year's Day, one of her many festivals, was celebrated as her birthday.  She cared for the dead, carrying them to the afterworld.  Protectress of women, goddess of joy, love, pleasure, flowers, the sky, Moon, tombs, artists, vine and wine, ale and beer, music, song, the dance, astrology.

Hecate-  Greek  "Most Lovely One"; "the Distant One"; Tracian Goddess of the Moon, the dark hours, and the Underworld; the Crone; Queen of the World of Spirits; goddess of witchcraft; snake goddess; Great Mother; Great Goddess of Nature; Lady of the Wild Hunt.  Daughter of Tartaros and Night, two titans; other versions says of Perses and Asteria (Starry-Night), or of Zeus and Hera.  Another goddess of the Amazons, her chariot was pulled by dragons.  She could change forms or ages and rejuvenate or kill.  She was the third Moon aspect as the Hag (Dark Moon) or the Crone (revered as the Carrier of Wisdom).  A huntress goddess who knew her way in the realm of spirits; all secret powers of Nature at her command; control over birth, life, and death.  She was patroness of priestesses; goddess of witches, the Waning Moon, dark magic, prophecy, charms and spells, vengeance, expiations, averting evil, enchantments, riches, victory, wisdom, transformation, reincarnation, incantations, dogs, purification, prosperity, destruction, limit, ends, choices, crossroads, annihilation, curses, sky, Earth fertility, magical charms, hauntings, destructive storms, revenge, change, renewal, and regeneration.

Hel/Hela-  Norse  Queen of the Dead and Ruler of Niflheim; her home is called Sleet-Den or Sleetcold.  Dark magic, revenge.
