Stolen Elise

I live in Tring (England) and our house was broken in to on 16th April between 7 and 10 in the evening. The thief broke into the house through the back door, climbed in grabbed a set of Lotus Elise keys (ignoring others), my laptop case, mobile and some other stuff, unlocked the back door, unlocked the garage and drove the car away.

The police have their suspicions who it may be but need proof, none of the various cars in the area have ever been recovered. The investigating officer said there is a gang operating who steal prestige cars in this way then export them, or break them.

Lesson 1) is don’t leave your keys near the back door, or front door and it seems have your house alarmed at the other thefts in the area were also from houses without alarms.

Lesson 2) is get some sort of tracker fitted, I was going to but could not decide what type to go for, GPS type maybe loose signal on some tunnels, or the original radio type which the police are kitted for (if there close enough and aren't too busy)
