| Nazgûl: Originally, these were great kings of Men, to whom Sauron gave the Nine Rings. As they lusted for power, they bowed to the will of Sauron, and passed out of the mortal world in the wraith world. Now, they are the chief servants of Sauron, and are bound to the power of the One Ring. The Ringwraiths, or Nazgûl, are the main weapon in Sauron’s armoury, through which Sauron works his evil on Middle-Earth. They themselves wield great power, and there are few who can stand up to them. They are used as messengers, scouts and as figureheads for Sauron’s armies. They are invisible to normal eyes, and can only be seen by their dark clothing that they were to give them shape in the mortal world. No conventional weapon can hurt a Wraith. Only a weapon enchanted by powerful spells can harm them. They are essentially blind, but they have every keen
senses of smell, and are directly bound to the ring, so can sense it.
