Sean Bean was born Shaun Mark Bean in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, on April 17, 1959.
He started out as a welder at his dad's steel fabrication shop and turned to acting at a young age, while attending art school.
He supports various charities by doing benefits and appearances and contributes items like this picture he was asked to draw of an orchid for the Dorset Wildlife Trust Auction. It sold for 460 british pounds, about $ 700 canadian dollars. (see black and white drawing to the left of this text)
He was also asked to sign a pair of men's briefs for the Bristol Cancer Center, which sold for 500 british pounds, about $900 canadian dollars.
He is community minded too: he joined the neighbors and local government MP to fight a proposed new building development in Belize Park Villiage (near his neighborhood in England), which they feel will erode the character and atmosphere of the neighborhood.
He is also an avid football (soccer) fan and his home team of Sheffield United has his loyalty - he even has a small tatttoo on his left shoulder saying 100% Blade in reference to the team. |
