For the underdress I used McCalls 3010 to make the underdress into a cropped jumper so that there wouldn't be extra weight. I used the bodice part and altered the neckline like I did on the overdress. Then I added the added the fitted upper sleeves from the same pattern. I drafted my own sleeves out for the bottom part. I drew out an isosceles triangle and curved the base. I attached these to the upper sleeves. I added a red trim with gold detail to the overdress neckline and a gold trim with red detail to the underdress neckline and the elbow seam on the sleeves. I doubled the size of the trim on the underdress so it looked more like the actual dress. I added a zipper to the overdress and an open ended zipper to the underdress so they are two separate pieces. |
