| In this shot the lighting is eerie. The lighting is shining from behind and not the front showing mystery. The silhouette doesn�t show any detail symbolizing the full strength or potential of the Nazgul has not yet been revealed. At this moment in the film the hobbits are fleeing from the Black Rider, they do not know what the creature is and this lack of detail in this shot exaggerates this uncertainty surrounding their pursuers. Also, the light shining from behind gives the feeling that the Nazgul is giving off it�s own light showing that they are unnatural as well as more powerful than the hobbits. |
