Frodo is the central character in the fellowship. Although he is a hobbit he is different to most. Hobbits of the Shire are blissfully unaware of what is happening outside their homeland. But Frodo is curious about the world outside the borders of the Shire as his Uncle Bilbo is, giving him a clearer understanding of the situations the encounters and the maturity to handle them properly. They show this difference in the film by the colour of his clothing. Where Merry, Pippin and Sam all wear greys and greens Frodo wears more darker, earthier colours such as browns and reds. As well as showing difference is also shows that Frodo is older than the others and with age comes maturity. It also hints that his character is darker as he has the One Ring and the opportunity to wield it but whether he chooses to take this chance is his decision. |
