| Ian Holm as Bilbo Baggins Name: Ian Holm Birthday: September 12, 1931 Birthplace: Goodmayes, England, UK Biography Ian Holm attended the Chigwell Grammar School in Essex as a child and later entered the Royal Academy Of Dramatic Arts. From there he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, Stratford-On-Avon, making his stage debut as a Spear Carrier in Othello. His film debut was in 1968 at the age of 36 in The Bofers Gun, for which he won the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor. In 1982 he won an Academy Award nomination for Chariots Of Fire. In 1998 he recieved a knighthood from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II 'for services to drama' and is now to be addressed as Sir Ian Holm. Current Projects 1.
