What is it about? *taken from Project Monaghan* As for the trees, Dominic has made it a point to support the planting of trees to off-set the carbon dioxide he attributes to throughout the year. He planted 40 mango trees in a forest in Bangalore, India to show his 'carbon neutral' attitude. He accomplished this through an organization called Future Forests. You may be wondering just how this carbon dioxide off-set works. Well, it's pretty simple. All living things, that breathe oxygen, exhale carbon dioxide. Electronics, cars, and things along that nature also omit CO2. Plants and trees live on CO2 and exhale oxygen. It's nature's very own filtering system!

Their Objective....Our objective is to plant 20 Mangos trees in the Bangalore forest in India.
Around November 2003, we will donate all the money we collected with this project to Future Forests. The donation will be dedicated to Dominic Monaghan and We will receive a donation certificate that we will be sent along with some items from our online shop. Then, we will give it to Dominic for his birthday!
Also, we will be making a "birthday book" for Dominic! Everyone who supports our project can send us a page for the book. What is it about? *taken from site*Well, we are not just about trees. We started with trees - hence our name - but our ambition is to help get us all to a world where businesses, cars, planes are as benign as trees and cities are as benign as forests. That might involve anything from hydrogen-fuelled cars to solar heating.
To help us achieve that target, we have developed best-practice products and services that enable people and business to take action climate change.
That means that we show you how much carbon dioxide (CO2) you produce, and we enable you to reduce those emissions by putting you in touch with, for example, 'green' energy suppliers. Then through us you can 'offset' unavoidable emissions by, for example, supporting tree planting programmes (which reabsorb your emissions) and 'energy switch schemes' in developing countries (which reduce the CO2 emissions of others and balance out the CO2 you produce). This whole programme is called CarbonNeutral.
Their Objective.... Through the CarbonNeutral brand, our customers have so far (to July 2002) offset almost 250,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide as well as helped to plant almost 1 million saplings (from which we would expect at least 250,000 trees to reach establishment). Both our technology and forestry offsets have also helped to stimulate a farmers' co-operative in Mexico, to develop a community based business in India, to instigate environmental policies into corporations and to inspire others about the real power we all have to stop global warming.
