Honorable Mention The Water Bottle of Ponce de Leon - James was in the temple for over 2 minutes & 20 seconds, yet he didn't even get to the artifact. He did set a record for the most rooms entered by the "first runner" without getting the artifact (10). The Helmet of Genghis Khan - Taylor was pretty quick about getting out of the temple, but the fact that Kirk was talking like a wild man, and that he had to pull Taylor's shirt to keep him in the camera shot was pretty funny. The Trident of Posideon - This shot is very embarrassing for Kimberly. Here she was, going through the temple without seeing a templeguard, getting the artifact with plenty of time left, and she drops it and runs away from it! The pic shows her going back to get it off the floor. The Useless Map of the Chifta Chieftan - This one would qualify for one of the quickest losses in the show's history. This templeguard may have been overzealous, but maybe he knew that this team didn't belong here. The Mummified Hand of the Egyptian King - This run qualifies with an unprecedented event. The team started with 1 & 1/2 pendants. (The girl) starts the run & promptly loses her full pendant in the pit. The first templeguard she finds takes her out. (The boy) goes in, finds her pendant & takes an alternate route, only to be caught twice and lose.
The Mask of Shaka Zulu - A solo player went straight to the tomb of ancient kings, got the mask in a record 50 seconds, & came out in another record time of 1:45.
The Heart-Shaped Pillow of Annie Taylor - Missy became the first player to get the artifact out of the center of the temple. WATCH!
Geronimo's Moccasins - Mitchell got to the pirate' s cove & back in 1:54.
The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba - "When you comin' back, Shane?", Kirk said just as Shane was going to the observatory. He came back in 2:43.
The Silver Horseshoe of Butch Cassidy - Paula made it look easy as she did it all by herself in 2:07.
The Much-Heralded Helmet of Sir Gawain - Tiffany did not find a templeguard, but took her time getting out of the temple with one of the biggest artifacts to try to fit through those small doors, winning in 2:45. WATCH!
The Star of Sultan Saladin - This girl went from the gargoyles to the observatory & back in 2:20.
The Bellybutton of Buddha - This girl went from the cave to the observatory & back in 2:50.
The Lucky Medallion of Atocha - Ty lost his pendant at the start, got it back from his partner, only to lose it to a templeguard. Afterward, he went across the top floor to record the solo win in 2:52.
The Lion-Headed Bracelet of Chandragupta - Andrea did it in 2:55.
The Enormous Iron Nose Ring of Babe the Ox - Joel said beforehand that he could handle it. He did, and then some. He blazed across the bottom floor in under a minute, got the artifact in the second fastest time, and got out in 2:03 for a solo win. Moreover, he was not caught by a templeguard. WATCH!
Galileo's Cannonball - John said beforehand that he was the anchor. He definitely pulled his own weight and then some, getting the cannonball out with 1 second left!
The Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain - Jessica & Jared took the long way, but were fast enough to win in 2:45.
The Blue Pearl of the Dragon Lady - Jennifer's last second reach for the pearl came up short.
The Mussel Shell Armor of Apanupec - Amanda & Gator won in 2:50. WATCH!
The Milk Bucket of Freydis - Tara did it solo, but not without hilarity. Atop the pit, she tried to jump the chasm and crashed into the rock slab! It sounded like she broke the bucket! Still, she won with... 1 second left!
The Secret Map of the Bandit Queen - Zach is catching his breath after taking over for Miriam and flying out of the temple, winning in 2:50.
The Broken Wing of Icarus - Jason looked like he would have a solo win with 1 second left. The only problem was that he did not cross the gate before zero, at which point, Jason was behind Olmec.
The Collar of Davy Crockett - Shannon & Adam won in 2:55.
The Applewood Amulet of Emiliano Zapata - Olivia-Emma failed to get the obvious other half to her pendant, but it was not necessary as she got out with...... 1 second left!.
Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress - It was the first episode ever aired on September 18, 1993. The green monkey player grabbed the headdress with 27 seconds left from the holes of python, and somehow, he races out and wins with 1 second left! From that moment on, I was hooked!
