Immigration Today..........
Today most people FLY to the United States.  This changes the historical pattern of settlement that was discussed on the Immigration Yesterday page.  More and more people are flying to the United States and settling in large cities.  This means that there is more and more diversity from more places around the world.  People still immigrate to the United States for the same reasons, however they are traveling longer distances in a shorter amount of time.

Flying also means that immigration officers work at all major airports that service international flights. Let's learn about some young students who immigrated to the United States from Haiti, Yugoslavia, Vietnam, Sudan, and Mexico and find out about their journey in their own words.
