A Burning wind whirls around me
the heat of body and mind squeezes my ribs
tightens my breath. Dry lips; brain on fire
Burning.
Wanting swirls through the wind
an anguished wailing in my belly
yearning. (You are there and not here.)
I call. Words tumble out one over another
pebbles in a rushing stream.
My mind jumps quick hearing only the
click click click stone against stone
not waiting for meaning.
Wanting.
Silence envelops sound, knowing you are here.
Glancing up to see you: hair this way,
nose there, smooth planes shadowed and light
Brings a smoothing across my lungs
and the soul rests in
Silence.
In this Burning heated wind, this fire
Where is love? Where ends desire?
