Just trying to share on topics that interest me...Peace and blessings, friends.
Walk down memory lane

Time flies, that's what everyone says. And true enough, recently my nephew celebrated his first birthday. Where had the year gone? The wrinkly, fragile thing baby had bloomed into a veritable giant locomotive. Well, all right, I'm exagerating but not by much. As long as he is not sleeping, he is in constant motion.

He loves to read; a legacy of my parents, I believe. My parents passed to my sister and me the love of books and in turn, she passed on that love to him. So my brothers and I got him all sorts of books; from those mini books to the pop-up books to the electronic sing-along book.

Time really flies for on the same day as his birthday, my junior college celebrated its 30th annivesary. My old friend, Siok Pheng, and I went down for the celebration...it's been 15 years since we graduated and I cannot believe how time really flies. I remember when we used to R&R in the canteen - Siok Pheng reminded me that once, the whole class actually skipped our General Paper class just to hang out at the canteen. Then there was taekwondo practice...we had to run round the school several times just to warm up.

Of course, I shouldn't forget to mention the dogs - they happened to be guard dogs for the school; but in reality they were pets of the whole school. There was this one dog which started to follow Mr Chia, the principal, wherever he went. So, we dubbed the dog to be Bobby Chia. And who can forget the teachers; Mrs Huang, Mr Goh, Miss Tan etc.

But that's all changed now. When Siok Pheng and I came back, we couldn't recognize a single building much less the teachers there. The principal had changed and of the teachers who taught us, only Mrs Huang, Mr Pun, and our Maths tutor were left. There were no more dogs to cheer up the place. Time flies and with it comes change. Hopefully the change is for the better as they upgraded the facilities and introduced new curriculum.

Meanwhile, all that is left as time passes are memories; therefore cherish the minutes and seconds and store them in our hearts for we'll never be able to pass this way again.

Peace,

Sid
