Yap is one of four states of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM).
LOCATION: It stretches 6-10 degrees North Latitude and 137-148 degrees West Longitude, covering 100,000 square miles. However, its total land mass is only 45.9 square miles, 38.7 of which is Yap proper. The rest make up the outer island atolls.
