Freefall

I gotta get you to let me go
It's not that far to fall
At least I'll die alone
I don't want to drag you down

I had a dream that I was falling
The earth crumbling all around
Only blackness lurked below me
But your hand, it reached out

You've been holding me here
Ever since that day
I've been slowly slipping down
And now it's time to let me go

I gotta get you to let me go
It's not that far to fall
What made you think that you could save me?
If you don't let go I'll take you down

My world is darkness
Your world is light
Every time you light up my life
I know I'm pulling you down

I am the shadow, the fire, the flame
You are the sky, the clouds, the stars
And I won't let you give that away
At least when I'm falling I know that you'll be ok

I gotta get you to let me go
It's not that far to fall
I'm not afraid of going down
I'm just afraid of not going down alone

Just let me fall down alone
Everytime I freakin re-copy a poem I change it.  Mostly little things.  But it's still crazy.  I'm crazy.  Your at the website of a crazy person.  So keep reading.  I'll make you crazy too!
I wrote this poem for Engligh 12 and it was for everyone in the class to read.  So I basically wrote it about an imaginary situation, it pertains to no-one and nothing.  but I like the result, especially "the shadow, the fire, the flame".  That sounds so cool!
