This book by Ben Counter takes us into the world of Warhammer 40k and the deeds of the heroic Grey Knights, the Chamber Militant of the Ordos Malleus. The protagonist in this book is a young Justicar called Alaric who was tasked with assisting Inqusitor Ligeia to stopping the Daemon Prince Ghargatuloth, the favoured of Tzeentch. In the course of the story, Ligeia was lost which means the task was left to Alaric alone. A classic story of a hero learning about himself and growing into the role trust onto him. The story as a whole is pretty well paced throughout and the heroic and self sacrificing spirit of the Grey Knights Space Marines is vividly potrayed. The language usage is unspectacular which makes for easy reading. If you are looking for a work of literary masterpiece, this book is not for you but if you are merely looking for entertaining reading, this is the book.
