3rd in line of the Resident Evil series, City of the dead is probably the best written book of the lot - still, that's not
saying much. The format is pretty much the same as the previous 2 however, there is a lot more content and substance to this
book compared to its predecessors. This book sees the introduction of 2 more of the main characters of the story. Leon
Kennedy and Claire Redfield - the little sister of Chris Redfield. As usual, pretty much most of the supporting cast in the
story gets killed along the way with the exception of Sherry Birkin who managed to survive - one of 2 exceptions in the
entire predictable story. Though, there is much greater content in this book, the author sacrifices the coherence of the
story in an attempted to follow each story line. She did not do too bad a job but still left the pace of the story a bit
disjointed which makes reading a bit annoying at times. However, the struggles of each of the characters and the descent
into madness of the bad guys are very well described - much better than the previous 2 books. I will not go into the details
of the story but suffice to say that there's too many to follow and that there is the usual gunfights with zombies and monsters -
your classic Resident Evil novel!
