| An Lasair Choille and co. Today I attended an Irish play, two in fact, with my Irish class. And I have to say, it stank, as if the dark back-alley didnt stink enough, this rotten 4 piece perfomance amplified this stench!! The "theatre" was right next to a supposed "hygenic" tattoo parlour, and as I've said before, the alleyway stank. But on to the performance, I'm sure the actors put on a convincing performance, I however wouldn't know, as the WHOLE THING WAS IN IRISH!!! Now, being a man who got 33% HL Irish in his mocks, this was asking a lot of me. I understood the "jist" of the 1st play, as we read about it in class the week earlier, but the 2nd play...I doubt if anyone had a clue of where we were with THAT performance. Anyway, in conclusion, I give the day 3 thumbs up, merely because of the festivities in town afterwards, and by festivities I mean a group of like 10 of us, spending about 4 euro's between us in Dr. Quirkys, the supposed "good time" Emporium. And also the fact that we missed our 1st 5 classes of the day. But the play itself...for shame... |
