Summary: Haruka thinks about the day's events. Author's notes: I like Haruka. She's very cool. But I didn't like how cruel she was to the three lights, so... (Not my best writing here.) * * * Haruka looked down at the turquoise haired woman that was nestled against her. Listening to her rhythmic breathing, Haruka could tell that Michuru was enveloped in the dream world. "Sleep well, little one," she murmured, gently kissing the top of Michuru's head through her tousled hair. In response, Michuru sighed softly and curled closer to her lover. A smile played at the corners of Haruka's mouth. She closed her eyes contentedly, enjoying the silence of the night. What are you dreaming about, little one? Haruka asked silently. Enjoying the lullaby that her companion's gentle breathing offered, Haruka let her mind drift through time and space to the morning's events... * * * It was one of the few times that Haruka could be found without the turquoise-haired sailor soldier at her side. She was, in fact, walking down the street leisurely, en route to meet that very sailor soldier, when she heard someone running towards her. "HARUKA!" Minako called, breathlessly waving to the dusty-haired woman. Haruka placed a hand on her hip, awaiting the arrival of Minako. "Hi Haruka!" she greeted her. Haruka regarded Minako, keeping her skepticism to herself. Though Minako was often perky, she seemed a little more jumpy, a little more jittery than usual. Resuming her pace down the sidewalk, Haruka asked "So, where are you headed in such a hurry?" Minako brightened. "I was just on my way to see Yaten," she informed Haruka happily. At the mention of the light's name, Haruka abruptly tensed and halted. She clenched her fist tightly and looked straight ahead, unable to glance at the blonde starlet, lest her eyes reveal something that someone as innocent as Love's namesake should not see. "You shouldn't be talking to them," she said, her voice a barely audible growl. "They're from outside our solar system. We can't trust them." Minako was taken aback, but recovered quickly with a dismissive wave of her hand. "Look, I know you don't like Seiya. Usagi told me that he was flirting with Michuru, but you've got to let it go. Besides, it's obvious that he's completely in love with--" "That has nothing to do with it," Haruka cut her off swiftly. Minako frowned slightly and placed a determined hand on her hip. "So what is it then? Outright racism?" This time it was Haruka's turn to be taken aback, but she maintained her cool facade, turning her icy emerald glare on the starlet. "That's what it is, isn't it?" Minako continued when Haruka didn't respond. "This is different. They're--" "...Different?" asked Minako sharply. "Augh! You don't understand! You can't understand," Haruka exasperated and resumed walking. "How would you feel if someone said the same about you and Michuru? What if they tried to keep you two apart?!?" Minako shouted as Haruka walked swiftly away. * * * Haruka hadn't regarded the question at the time, being too consumed by anger. But now that Michuru had calmed her down in that special way that only she could, the question was fresh in her mind. Images of anyone trying to deny Haruka her love being violently torn to pieces by Haruka's own hands floated through her head, a comforting thought. She looked down lovingly at her turquoise haired companion, knowing that nothing was more important in her eyes. Perhaps Minako had been right. Perhaps she should have given the starlights more of a chance. Michuru slowly opened her eyes. "What are you thinking about, Haruka?" "Nothing. Just that I couldn't live without you." ~Fin~
