The Plunge Saga
by Scott Sypien

LOST KENNYWOOD, PA -- Shortly after the last fireworks had been set off during the Grand Victorian Festival celebration, a whole new set of fireworks were set off in Lost Kennywood.

A day after the return of manager Jonelle Warren from vacation. The supervisors made a stunning announcement. The Pittsburgh Plunge would be moving from the Lost Kennywood crew to the Exterminator crew at weeks end. This move effected many people. Not only would the Exterminator crew have to learn an entirely new attraction but their rotation, schedule and breaks would have to be altered as well. This announcement deeply effected those on the Lost Kennywood Crew. Veterans Ann Frazier, Erik Flores, Chanel Campbell, as well as newcomers Amy Kuzins, Jeff McCafferty, and Josh "Oompa" Goodwin were set to be displaced to other crews. The crew would then be shrunk down to only three rides and seven positions. Nobody wanted to leave Lost Kennywood for another crew. As more details became available, everyone who was leaving learned there new destinations. That soon changed. On Tuesday, July 9th a shocking announcement was made. Jonelle Warren told the supervisors she would be leaving at the end of the week. Warren would be making the transition from Lost Kennywood to Sam's Club.

With this announcement everything suddenly changed. The decision was Nicole Rizzi - 2002 Assistant Managermade to promote Nicole Rizzi to assistant manager and bump Heather Lees up to the lead role as manager. Chanel Campbell, Jeff McCafferty and Josh "Oompa" Goodwin were told they would be staying put but the others were still sent to other crews. (Ann Frazier - Merry Go Round, Erik Flores - Turnpike, Amy Kuzins - Exterminator, and Amy Lewicki - Skycoaster) With these changes made came the addition of some new faces to Lost Kennywood. They included, Mike Boyd, Kelly McCarthy, Mike McElhinney, and Lisa Woytovich who was a member of the 2001 Lost Kennywood crew.

The new combination of Lees and Rizzi immediately clicked and paid dividends. Things began to get better as things got back to the way they once were in Lost Kennywood. As August started, Lost Kennywood was once again a place that everyone was happy to be at and apart of.
