Whatever the twist ending to the movie or the secret that lies just outside the village borders may be, it is sure to be closely tied to the creatures.
The main question on everybody's mind is: Are the creatures for real or are they just village elders dressed up in red cloaks?
This is what we've seen of the creatures so far:

The picture above (and the magnification below) are taken from the theatrical trailer and haven't been retouched except for brightness and contrast. Clearly visible are the red cloak with spikes (that seem to be made out of bone) sticking out the back. The creatures seem to be wearing some kind of mask.

What can be seen in the lower right part of the picture above is clearly a human skeleton. In what ways is this skeleton tied to the creatures? Was this a person killed by the creatures or do the people of the village turn into creatures upon dying?

These were also taken from the theatrical trailer. You can clearly see the red cloak with the spikes sticking out.

Note the glimpse of what could be the face of the creature in the picture above as well as what seems to be a rope hanging around Ivy's neck in the picture below. Both were captured from the "Year TV-Spot".

Not too to much to see in the picture below (from the "Year TV-Spot" as well), but you can make out the red cloak behind Ivy. If you look at this scene frame-by-frame, it almost looks as if the creature has giant claws instead of feet, but this could just be my imagination as well...

This picture was taken from the newest trailer, note that you can clearly see the creatures jaw and teeth and the zoom below - looks kind of like a reptile too me, clearly no fur or hair on this thing.

That's all the picture material we have of the creatures so far, but if you look at the trailers (especially the "Year-Trailer"), it doesn't really look as if the creatures were just elders wearing a cloak, they're too fast and too big - oh, and they have giant teeth and a definitely non-human mouth.
What do you think?
