Storm
of Vengeance (Invocation/Evocation)
Level: Cleric 8, Druid 8
Range: visual range of the caster
Casting Time: 1 round
Duration: 10 rounds
Area of Effect: 60 foot radius storm cloud
Saving Throw: none
This
spell creates an enormous black storm cloud. Lightning
and crashing claps of thunder appear within the
storm. Creatures beneath the cloud must succeed
a saving throw or be deafened (see blindness/deafness)
for 4D4 rounds.
Each
effect occurs after the first round.
Second
Round: Acid rains down in the area, dealing 10d6
points of acid damage. Affected targets suffer 1d6
points of acid damage per round for 10 rounds thereafter.
A saving throw halves all the damage.
Third
Round: Bolts of lightning are evoked down from the
cloud to strike any creatures inside the cloud,
harming only enemies however. Each bolt deals 10d6
points of electricity damage. Creatures struck can
attempt a saving throw against spells for half damage.
Fourth
Round: Hailstones rain down in the area, dealing
10d6 points of damage. A saving throw reduces the
damage by one-half.
Fifth
through Tenth Rounds: Violent rain and wind gusts
reduce visibility. The rain obscures all sight,
including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature
5 feet away has one-half concealment (attacks suffer
a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have
total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker
cannot use sight to locate the target). Also, this
storm hampers all movement reducing it by three-quarters.
Ranged attacks within the area of the storm are
impossible. Spells cast within the area are automatically
disrupted.
