When cast, thick shimmering silver mists billow out from the center to instantly fill the area of effect, and the miasma lessens all physical movement and magic within its mists. Like heavy fog blanketing a sea town, it mutes much activity and makes it difficult to see within its area.

First and foremost, Mystra's miasma limits all visual senses (darkvision included) to a maximum range of 5 yards while inside the area of effect. This field also slows all targets' movement of by half. The miasma also affects all active magic and spell effects so all saves against spells are reduced by 5, and all spells of 5th level or lower targeted within the mist dissipate harmlessly, whether friendly or not. Magic resistance and saving throws do not stop this spell, as opposed to most other spells.
