Goaded by an un-named mage who mocked his spell-research (pointing out that every spell Otiluke had created was either a sphere or a screen and suggesting some perceptual disability for this), Otiluke developed this spell. In a departure from his previous works, this not only shapes itself to the target's head, it also is primarily defensive in nature. Legend has it that Otiluke developed a further variation, preventing the target from speaking or breathing, and used this on his incredulous critic. No-one has dared to comment on his research since.

This spell creates a magical head shield that magically shields the caster from aerial attacks and cloud spells that raise high above head height. He gains total immunity to any spells using projectiles falling from the sky such as firestorm, ice storm, and meteor swarm. Spells that use any type of vapors or clouds are also negated such as stinking cloud and cloud kill. This effect lasts for the spell's duration or until dispelled.
