Flaying
(Necromancy)
Level: Loviatar 8, Mage 8, Sorcerer 8
Range: visual sight of caster
Duration: 10 rounds
Casting Time: 1
Area of Effect: 1 creature
Saving Throw: none
Though the original purposes of this spell are unknown, they were assuredly not pleasant. It has long been speculated that having one's skin flayed off is one of the most painful processes imaginable, and to convert this abhorrent practice into a spell would be the work of an evil entity, indeed.
This
terrible necromantic spell sends a terrible soul
of a skin dancer into the body of a target, which
causes him to bleed profusely from all orifices
for a sustained duration. At the beginning of this
horrible incarnation, the target's flesh is stripped,
causing 1D4 slashing damage per level of the caster
despite any futile attempts to make a saving throw.
For further effects, this spell enables a saving
throw against death at -2 or the target will bleed
profusely (1 point of damage per second every round
for 10 rounds), and this pain will drive him insane.
The insanity can only be negated by an additional
saving throw if the previous one is somehow unsuccessful.
