Arrow of Bone (Necromancy, Conjuration/Summoning)
Level: Bard 6, Mage 6, Sorcerer 6
Range: Special
Duration: Special
Casting Time: 6
Area of Effect: 1 conjured missile
Saving Throw: Special

By drawing runes of dire power upon a conjured arrow, the caster changes the weapon into a sinister missile of cold, enchanted bone. The wizard may then throw or fire the weapon in the normal fashion, or he can choose to give it to a companion to use. The weapon strikes a +3 weapon, and a creature struck by the weapon must make a saving throw versus death magic or die. Even if the saving throw successful, the victim sustains 2D6 + 6 points of damage. Unlike the death spell or finger of death, the victim can be raised or resurrected in any expedient manner.

The arrow of bone does not destroy undead or nonliving creatures outright. Instead, the arrow inflicts 4D6 + 24 points of damage, or half that if the subject creature succeeds in its saving throw.

The arrow must be thrown within 1 round of the casting, or else the weapon vanishes and the spell is wasted.
