Aid
(Necromancy)
Level: Paladin 2, Cleric 2
Sphere: Necromantic
Range: Touch
Casting Time: 1 round
Duration: 2 hours
Area of Effect: 1 creature
Saving Throw: none
An enhanced form of the Bless spell, this is believed to have originated with the prayer rites of the priests of Tempus. Ever keen to prolong their time on the battlefield, they petitioned the Lord of Battles for magic that would harden their bodies and strengthen their souls. Tempus obliged only when all the clergy present pledged a crusade against a large group of deserters from Dragonspear Castle.
The
recipient of this spell gains the benefit of a Bless
spell (+1 to attack rolls and saving throws) and
a special bonus of 1d8 for the duration of the
spell. The Aid spell enables the recipient to actually
have more hit points than his full normal total.
The bonus hit points are lost first when the recipient
takes damage; they cannot be regained by curative
magic.
