Also like Pippin Merry accompanies Frodo to Rivendell and joins the fellowship as well. Elrond disaproved but Gandalf conviced him saying the loyalty of a friend might be more powerful than the might of a warrior. He was captured with Pippin at Amon Hen and escaped at Fangorn Forrest when the orcs that captured them were attacked. They met Treebeard who would be a big part in Isengard's destruction. There they also met Theoden who pledged his service to them. Meriadoc the Magnificent fought bravely in the battle of Pelennor Fields, and helped avenging Theoden's death. After the war of the ring he became a knight of Rohan. When he returned to the Shire he was made master of Buckland. |
