~Phoenix Laire~
The phoenix bird symbolizes immortality, ressurrection, and rebirth. The Phoenix has no brother or sister, nor mother or father. She gives birth to herself. The common lifespand is 500yrs. Nearing the end of her life, she will build a nest of spices, herbs, leaves and twigs atop a date palm and rest inside of it, her wings outstretched. The heat of the sun will ignite the nest and the phoenix will burn to ashes and die. But under the evening stars, life awakens inside of the ashes and with the morning sun a young phoenix will be born and fly from the nest. Of course, there are several variations to this account at different periods in history.

The Phoenix has been used greatly to represent Christ and his resurrection. She is most recognizable as being a symbol of the dying and rising sun. In anceint Greek and Egyptian mythology, the phoenix is associated with the sun god. The phoenix is a mystical bird that is crimson, gold, and purple with a sweeping tail and jeweled eyes. She is found in far away gardens with crystal springs.
