21 December 2003 Happy Christmastime everyone! From all of us to you AND your pets, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. This New Year we'll be playing a lock-in at Waynesville Baptist. But You really should check out the event at The Attic. We just played there last night and that place is awesome - SPEAKING OF WHICH - Come check out the Attic on the 3 January 2003. We're playing again and it's a great venue with room to dance and jump, and the sound and light people are crazy nice. If you can't make it then, head out to Waynesville UMC on the 2nd to see Goodwen and ourselves FINALLY play a show together! For more info, Check out the shows page. Thanks again to the other bands we played with last night (My Requiem, David Hamilton, A Scar for Proof) and to Everybody Else Wins for being nice and having a monkey on their drumset. 1 December 2003 this is jo following coal, telling you that he missed one piece of updatedly goodness, we've got new songs! yes that's right, new songs fresh off the hippie fruit stand in Webster groves.. come hear them over christmas. They're good for you 30 November 2003 Well, it's Coal again. Because I'm cool and update the website. So not much has happened in the Lostasai world. We've taken this absence to make sure we get good grades like the good kids we are. If you know ANY of us, you're probably laughing right now. We're in the process of finding shows to play over break so EMAIL US IF YOU KNOW OF ANYTHING WE COULD PLAY OVER CHRISTMAS BREAK!!! Because everyone wants to see us. HA. So that's about it, so we'll catch you on the flip side. Peace and God Bless, ~ THE ONE WHO IS CALLED COAL 30 November 2003 (a) I um accidently deleted what i wrote on the other entry. So...um....I hope everyone remembers what it said. |
16 September 2003 Whoa... it's been a long time... Hey! We have a trombone player. Shamul has temporarily been unveiled to be a super cool guy named Doug. At least... I think his name is Doug... Supposedly this Doug is an awesome trombone man with a good heart and mad skills, so we're really happy to have him join in the fun. On a side note, a band called Five Iron Frenzy, that is much beloved by many members of this band, is breaking up this November. They have hugely impacted our lives and our music so we hugely encourage you to get out and see them on their fall tour if you have a chance and thank them for being so awesome, especially since we're aren't playing any this fall! We also recorded some really awful demos that we refuse to let anyone in the world see, but we're working on some good ones... hopefully by late winter/early spring we'll be kicking off some serious fun. That's the news for now... 25 July 2003 Guess what, folks! Lostasai is now a unit of SEVEN! That's right. Josh Baker has joined our ranks as rhythm guitarist. Hopefully, he'll be ready for the Empty Stage Magazine show. We've got a lot of work, what with "hopefully" having new songs for the new shows (we're working on them...?) and writing new guitar parts for old songs... We'll keep you posted on that. We're also trying some new methods of writing, so hopefully our new stuff will sound cool. Auf Wiedersehen! 15 July 2003 Hey world, it's Jo. So scotty k and i have been back for almost a week and a half and I'm just barely starting to feel like I'm not at Cornerstone. It was AMAZING. We met up with some friends there and made some friends... Speaking of which, anyone going to C-stone next year, check it out... there are these people that play a game called buck-buck every day... it's hilarious! and amazing! and if any of you listened to Bill Cosby a child you'll appreciate the game all the more. In further news, I've been asked to open an acoustic show out here in St. Louis at my University this summer. Granted, it's a bunch of local college bands, and I'm only playing 15 min. ...And I'm opening, (so it's okay if I suck), but still! Any of my acousticy junk that heather always wants me to play at plugged in shows... yeah... that stuff is what I'll be playing. So keep me in your thoughts and prayers this July 24th for about 15 min. And I'll see you in August! Keep the rock alive... Cheers! ver. 2.0 |
| 3 January 2004 Yeah, 2004! Happy New Year! This here is jo with news and the news is this: we had a very productive break as a band, having played more shows than we did all summer and releasing a new demo "Just for the Record". It was ghetto recorded in Scotty K's room... but they're fun, and they've got five songs: Second Helping of Ska Overwhelmed Math Club I See Something You Don't See Soft Things I'm sorry to everyone that came out to see us on the second and third that I couldn't be there, but I heard the guys pressed on and played hard, So I hope you had fun with them. I, on the other hand, am sick. Bleah. |
April 18, 2004 Hey rockers! This is Scott K. (And Jo!) Yes, again. I know, I just won't leave you guys alone. But apparently, the unruly masses of our fans demand an update (i.e. one person). So once again (for the first time), we deliver! That's just how we are. Awesome. So the college ones of us are pretty close to finals, and Jo's about to open a show in St. Louis, while Heather's about to open a show in Waynesville. Not even to mention the rest of the hotties in Lostasai that don't do Theatre... :o) This Tuesday, Five Iron Frenzy's LAST ALBUM EVER will be coming out. It's entitled "The End is Here." So get it! Also, check out an awesome band from Illinois called Skuf. There should be a link to their site in our links section. They rock bigtime. Other than that, I can't wait until the summer when we start playing shows again. God bless! March 4, 2004 Howdy there, pardners. This be Scott K. Not much to let you all know about, except that we now have a guestbook. So sign it! Also, we've been working really hard on new music...and it's been churning like butter...errr, or something that makes more sense. Anyway, I think it's turning out really well. We're probably not playing any shows until at least May, possibly June. But you can expect to see us at the now infamous (since I said so) Bobfest which is tentatively set for June 11, 2004. Last year was downright awesome, and I'd wager that we'll have enough new songs for a whole new set! Anyway, until we have real news to tell you, I'm out. February 23, 2004 Hey everyone! This is Fil...I'm bored and felt that there needed to be some info explained about recent events. You see, recently, the site here was...altered. The creature responsible is known as the "Disterderk." I am currently working on finding and capturing this creature. Any info you can give would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and one more thing. If you missed the site before and want to see what happened, click . HERE 4 February 2004 Hey Lostasians! For those of you who don't know, we released a demo entitle, "Just For the Record." We presented a Raphael to our best Slovakian fan, who is incidently one of the greatest people ever - and we will miss you Alex. Also, Scott B took a fall for us yesterday and split open his foot by keeping it rowdy in the pit. Went to the Emergency room! So Scott, we salute you and your foot, and I hope it's doing okay. Keep us updated (and you are hands down the best American fan/friend we've got). We also presented an old stinky sock which leads us into- SHOW NEWS!!! July 29th - Be There! We'll be at the Attic again, this time with Goodwen, and possibly another band we're really excited to play with again. THE KICKER: bring a new pack of socks or two canned goods and get $2 off admission, and we will donate everything we collect to a homeless ministry/food pantry. This is gonna be an awesome show and event so Call ALL your Friends and Haul them up to Kettering!! Thanks again to everyone at BoBfest. That show's a party every time! pax -jo. |
