Jane Liu is female, and is 14 years old. She says," I began writing because it was a release of all my pent up emotions. I was severely depressed and suicidal and a cutter. It sometimes was a substitute. Instead of hurting myself, I would write something. Whenever I write, it is an impulsive decision. I write everything down I am feeling, and then revise it the next day. It gives me time to think over what exactly I want to portray in that particular poem. My poems are a piece of me and I take pride in them. |
