JEREZ

      Jerez or Jerez de la Frontera is a city in Andalucia which is the center of the sherry industry. Jerez is also the name of the DO which produces sherry. Only three vine varieties are now authorized for use: Palomino, Pedro Ximenez and Muscat of Alexandria

MONTILLA-MORILES

      Montilla-Moriles is a southern Spanish DO wine zone producing both fortified and unfortified wines in the style of sherry, usually known simply as Montilla. The principal grape variety is the Pedro Ximenez which thrives in the hot climate.

MALAGA

      Malaga, a city in Andalucia, lends its name to a DO wine zone which produces rich, raisiny fortified wines. Traditionally Malaga was a dried grape wine, today the wines are made using a number of different methods. Wherever the grapes are grown, Malaga wines must be aged in the city of Malaga itself to qualify for the DO.

PUERTO DE SANTA MARIA

      Puerto de Santa Maria is one of the three towns in Andalucia making and maturing sherry. Puerto Fino is the name given to a Fino which is matured in the town itself.

SANLUCAR DE BARRAMEDA

      Sanlucar de Barrameda is one of the three Spanish towns where sherry is made and matured. Manzanilla, a delicate, pale, dry sherry is matured in Sanlucar.

CONDADO DE HUELVA

      The Condado de Huelva is a Spanish wine zone in Andalucia close to the city of Huelva. Three styles of wine are made: Condado Palido, a pale, dry fortified wine, Condado Viejo which is a Ranchio style of wine similar to a rustic Oloroso and Vino Joven; an unfortified dry table wine.

MANZANILLA

      Manzanilla is a specially refreshing type of sherry that is made in the seaside sherry town of Sanlucar de Barrameda. As the wine matures it may develop into either a Manzanilla Olorosa or a Manzanilla Pasada.
