CALATAYUD

Calatayud is a DO wine zone in Aragon, northeast Spain.

The DO regulations limit growers to indigenous grape varieties
which are mostly sold to the nine local co-operatives.

The Garnacha grape, which accounts for the majority of production,
makes a potent red wine.

CAMPO DE BORJA

Campo de Borja is a Spanish wine zone in the undulating plains
around the town of Borja producing mainly alcoholic red wines.

This is one of the most arid parts of the country and low
-yielding vineyards are planted predominantly with Garnacha vines
which are made into heady red wines

CARINENA

Carinena is a town in northeast Spain which lends its name to both a DO wine zone and a vine variety (widely grown in southern France
as Carignan).

In the past, many of the heavy red wines were sold in bulk for blending with lighter wine.

However, recent changes have resulted in lighted wines being sold from this DO directly.

SOMONTANO

Somontano is a wine zone in the foothills of the Pyrenees in the northeast of Spain.

The wines are made by a small number of local co-operatives with the red Moristel grape dominating.
