JRSS (Junior SS)!
Sambonerocknrollmotherfucker
The Horehounds
The Nightcaps
WHAT WAS THIS?
It was a band formed during the end of the Horehounds. I had formed this band in hopes of becoming the New Horehounds! I was gonna keep it a 3-piece until Steve Baise joined in on guitars and I stepped down to just sing! We did songs that I had written for the Horehounds to do, but they were just too fuckt up to learn new material!

HOW LONG DID THIS LAST?
It lasted only 6 months during the course of time we recorded 3 songs which the bass player is not on at all! These were songs I wrote after I left the Nightcaps and had them in the vault and I had them ready for the Horehounds, but the Horehounds weren't quite ready and when I could just sing and not play any guitars, this worked out perfectly! I had plans with percussion and shit like that! This gave Steve Baise an opportunity to shine as a lead guitar player!

WHERE DID IT GO FROM THERE?
Well, dealing with a drummer with a one-track mind and a bass player who didn't really practice, something had to give and Stevie stepped down and there was no way I was gonna carry these guys anywhere! Bars were shuttin' down, there was no place to play, no place to rehearse, same ole rocknroll disaster story!

THE TRUTH AND I DON'T WRITE SHIT TO PUT DOWN PEOPLE, I JUST CALL SHIT AS I SEE SHIT!

I can see how it might piss some people off!  People like it when you tell the truth and make fun, but they only like it when you do it to OTHER people! When it happens to them, all of a sudden, it's not so funny anymore! YEP!

I WROTE ALOT ABOUT THE JRSS! HOW THE JR, WERE 2 GUYS WHO SHARED AN APARTMENT AND PLAYED IN THIS SHITTY BAND, THE STRAP-ONS AND THEY WERE BOTH INTO SPORTS AND STAR WARS AND PLAYED BASS AND DRUMS AND OWNED JOHNNY THUNDERS AND RAMONES T-SHIRTS, BUT DIDN'T OWN A CD OR RECORD AT ALL! YEAH, THOSE WERE THE GUYS IN THE JRSS! YEAH, I WAS DESPERATE FOR A NEW RHYTHM SECTION FOR THE HOREHOUNDS BECAUSE WE WERE SET TO REHEARSE AT STEVELAND AND THE JUNKIES WERE TRYIN' TO SCORE DOPE! AND STEVIE GOT ALL PISSED OFF AND I JUST LEFT AND CALLED THE INFAMOUS JR OF WHAT WAS TO BE THE JRSS, THE NEW HOREHOUNDS! YEAH, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'VE READ ANYTHING THAT FAR BACK IN THE DIRT ISSUES ABOUT ME WRITE ABOUT THE JRSS, THE BAR THAT THE R WORKD AT, WHO THE R WAS A DRUMMER AND HE ALSO RAN SOUND AT THE BAR AND WOULD HAVE ALL THE DRUM MICS REALLY LOUD AND YOU COULDN'T HEAR GUITARS OR  VOCALS, IT WAS REALLY SHITTY! I WROTE ABOUT THAT SHIT AND THEY GOT ALL PISSED OFF AT ME! OTHER PEOPLE WHO READ IT, KNEW IT WAS THE TRUTH AND TOTALLY AGREED WITH ME. THEIR FRIENDS GOT ALL PISSED OFF AND PRETTY MUCH
TURNED ALL THEIR FRIENDS FROM VIRGINIA BEACH AGAINST ME! WHICH I DON'T REALLY CARE, BECAUSE I DON'T GO OUT TO THE BEACH ANYFUCKIN' WAYS! NORFOLK PEOPLE DON'T LIKE THE BEACH AND THE BEACH PEOPLE HATE
NORFOLK! IT'S ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY! SO YEAH, I BADMOUTHED RICHMOND AS WELL BECAUSE I'VE NEVER LIKED RICHMOND! PEOPLE EITHER AGREE WITH ME OR JUST DON'T LIKE MY OPINION! AND WHEN MY OPINION IS ABOUT THEM, THEN THEY GET MAD! WHEN MY OPINION SEEMS TO BE TRUE, THEN THEY GET REALLY MAD!

Nothing pisses people off worse than that - saying bad things about them that are absolutely true! They can't handle it!  They can't accept their own failures and shortcomings! YEP, THOSE PATHETIC STUPID FUCKS!

THEY ARE LUCKY I'VE EVEN PUT THEM IN MY ZINE! OH FUCKIN' WELL! NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE J OF THE JRSS IS IN
FLORIDA! I NEVER HAD ANY BEEF WITH HIM! HE JUST SUCKD AT BASS! HE WAS A GUY WHO OWNED A BASS, NOT A BASS PLAYER! HE WORE THE SHIRTS! THE R WAS THE DRUMMER/BOOKEE FOR THE BAR, BUBBA'S BEACH CLUB
WHICH I USED TO CALL THE BBC! HE MADE ALL THESE PROMISES FOR THE JRSS, ABOUT HAVING OUR SHOWS
VIDEOTAPED, HAVING US ON A WEEKLY SHOW FOR THIS CABLE ACCESS CHANNEL, 'TALKIN' SHIT, THIS AND THAT NEVER KNOWIN' WHERE IT'S AT, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW!!! GIMME A CALL WHEN YOU KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT ROCKNROLL!!!' WHICH THEY NEVER DID AND NEVER WILL!

HAHAHHAHAHA!!!  Did Stevie write "Gimme A Call" about them?YEAH! HE WROTE THAT YEARS AGO!

It fits too well not to be about them!  I think everybody knows a few people like that, though - I know we've got our share of them here! Shit-talkers, I mean!  If they're not gonna tell the truth and talk about some REAL shit that they really CAN do, they need to shut the fuck up! DAMN STRAIGHT!

THAT WAS MY VENT SESSION ON THAT SUBJECT! SORRY I MAKE ALL THESE EMAILS SO GOTDAM LONG! I HAVEN'T
EVEN BEGUN TO TALK ABOUT HOLLY! WELL, IF YOU READ THE SITE, THEN YOU HAVE AN IDEA! BUT I HAVE SOME PEOPLE WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO IT WHICH WAS REALLY COOL!

Yeah, it's cool that you have other people ragging on her - if it was just you, people would read it and think you just had some kind of vendetta against her! The more people you can get to post about her, the more people who read it will believe it!  As for me, I fuckin' believe!!! HEY, I WOULDN'T LIE TO YOU OR STEER YOU WRONG ABOUT THIS! MY ZINES AND WEBPAGES ARE OPINIONS BASED ON FACTS AND ACTUAL EVENTS! FUCK EVERYBODY, BECAUSE THE TRUTH HURTS!

JRSS
Why do I need to talk about this?  I don't, but I'm gonna!  Yeah, I'll bring this shit back up again!  JRSS or Junior SS was pretty much the Horehounds, well, New Horehounds featuring Steve Baise on guitars and I just sang and a diffrent drummer and bass player minus the 2 junkies!  I wanted to bury the Horehounds reputation and where it was going, down, rock bottom as far down as a heroin addict playin' bass on the floor because he's sooo fucked up and a drummer fallin' asleep on the kit.  The JRSS was a short stint during the last days of the Horehounds and lasted only 8 months!  And probably about the same time, Stevie was knockin' up his wife because she gave birth a month after the last JRSS show in February!

I think the idea came about when I was tryin' to form a band with the former Strap-ons/Gonowheres!  I wanted to do the Horehounds thing, but with diffrent people. And that's what happened.  We pretty much played out and practiced for about 2 months and finally recorded some songs, 3 to be exact.  These were songs I tried to show to the Horehounds, but they just never caught on.  These 3 I speak of are:  'Pleased to meet you', 'Golddigger' and 'Hot Wheels'!  I wrote 'Pleased...' back in 1994.  It's about meetin' chicks at the bars when yer drunk and you just can't remember much!  And throughout the years, people have loved the song sooo much, I finally recorded it with these guys.  'Golddigger' was also a song I tried with the Horehounds, but it too, didn't catch on.  It was kinda hard to play and sing that song!  Not that it couldn't be done, but it would be better to sing and play maracas and tambourines when singing this song.  Much like that of Mick Jagger!  The song lacks the soul-filled feeling of a big juicy black woman in the  background doing some soulfull back-ups!  'Hot Wheels' was also a song I tried to play with the Horehounds!  This song was written in 1997 in response to a Candy Snatchers song, 'Ass casserole'!  I just pretty much related a chicks legs to cars!

Yeah, these songs were written a long time ago, but they were still great songs.  I needed to have them on tape.  And to record them would do them justice!  I have many more songs I want to do and wish I could've recorded every single one of them.  But these songs just needed to be on tape and with the JRSS recording them.  It is a little unknown fact that the J was never on any of the recordings.  He did play in the studio, but he couldn't do the bass parts or he just never learned them and we couldn't wait for him to learn shit that ALL Bass players should already know if they play bass.  So he got exnayed and Stevie did the parts!  And why not, he's a bass player and a damn good one!  Fawk it man!

Finally, all the songs have been mixed, fixed, and whatever needed to be done to them.  I just recently fixed up everything and finally put vocals to 'Hot Wheels'!  I hadn't done the vocal tracks since we recorded the songs in October of 2002.  But it's all done and it's a time in my rocknroll history that is captured on tape.  I think 'Golddigger' was a crowd favorite live!  I'm happy about that!  That'll probably be a keeper for the Sambone set, LIVE!  Stay tuned!
JRSS, The Horehounds, The Dirty Fingers @ Cruzers, Norfolk, Virginia, Friday, August 30, 2002, The Dirty Fingers Record Release Party!
Alright now, its Friday, its raining and it sucks, but at least it wasnt scorchin hot for the next to last day of August!  Who gives a rats ass!?!  Anyways, we have the another show at the Cruzers which I have dubbed, Cruzers is for boozers!  Another night at the flip bar and suckin down some free beer as I was DJing, if thats what you wanna call it due to the fact that the regular DJ was outta town!  My first experience at this shit!  I guess it was alright, I played some good rocknroll from my burnt cd collection as usual!  Well, this night was suppose to be special due to the fact that it was the record release party for the Dirty Fingers from Charlottesville!  It was also the one year anniversary for the Horehounds and it keeps getting worse with time!  And also, we had the JRSS debuting their first show ever with the comeback of ex-band members of the Strap-ons, GoNoWheres, Nightcaps and Secrets, fuck, lets put the Devildogs, Vikings, Pearl Schwartz, Waldos, Sonny Vincent, and the GoToHells!

Anyways, first up, we have the debut band from Norfolk and Virginia Beach which was my lead singing debut and this band practices in Chesapeake!  Thats a happy medium!?!  Hey, what do you expect?  Rocknfuckinroll baby, thats what you get!  We have Justin on the Fender Jazz Bass and Rich on the Pearl export drum kit, Stevie on the Hot Pink Gibson SG thru a Marshall Lead Series 100 watt head and then theres Sam on the vocals and maracas!!!  There was a song dedication to the dead Ramones, Joey and Dee Dee called The End of the Ramones which the lyrics also happen to be in the first issue of The DIRT!  The cover of the Dead Boys tune, Caught with the meat in your mouth was also a crowd pleaser as well!  Due to the poor lighting at Cruzers, the guitar player, Stevie had to use a lighter to help him see his tuner as his guitar went outta tune and he had to tune up!!!  The JRSS finished up with a song dedicated to every chick who is a golddigger, hence the song, Golddigger!  Maracas were used in this song, but probably not heard at all!  Hey, the good thing about this show, I just so happened to record the song on my 4track and so far it sounds pretty good for using one mic!

Next up in the Cruz joint, we have the Scorehounds from Norfolk and I also had to play with these guys!  I dont have much to say, NO PRACTICE = SHITTY PERFORMANCE!!!  Nuff said!!!

Last, but not least, we have the Dirty Fingers from Charlottesville!  They put on a great show!  They did a cool cover of the Joneses song, Pillbox!  Youve got the badass bass player, Goose and Scotto on the gits which by the way, he has come a long way, he fuckin rocks, Josh on the drums keepin the fuckin beat and Tony on the vocals and bottlebreakin!  My two favorite songs they do will always have to be, Only Perverts and Shes a slut!!!  Their debut single is on Black Lung records, go buy it!!!

JRSS
This is a new band which I formed this year due to the fact of lack of practice and no equipment of the current band Im in!  I formed this band in efforts to play rocknroll that I couldnt do with other bands!  I wanna play more rocknroll influences by the Rolling Stones!  I want that kind of sound and I plan to do that with the JRSS!  What does JRSS stand for or mean?  Well, it aint something I came up with, but the guitarist, Stevie came up with it!  It stands for Justin, Rich, Stevie, Sam! Yeah, leave it to the jewish guy to come up with that name!  We have the rhythm section from the Strap-ons, Justin on the bass and Rich keepin the beat on drums, the only real musicians the Strap-ons ever had, at least in my book, World renown, Steve Baise on guitar, and Sambone on the vocals!  The band plans to do more shows wherever and start some recordings in September 2002!  Look out for these guys!

Jimmy and the Teasers, JRSS, Roper @ Holy Chow, Richmond, Virginia, Friday, October 4, 2002
Okeydokey, kiddies, here's another review from yours truly, motherfuckers!  First up, I play in the JRSS and we were chattin' in the Chesapeake before we rode up to Richmond for the show.  Everybody was talkin' about the bass player from the Horehounds and that they see him everywhere and wish they didn't!  And I responded, "he's everywhere you don't want him to be!" and Rich, the drummer says, "yeah, he's the Anti-Visa!"  So we get up to Richmond in yer one way, you can't turn here/you can't park here fuckin' town, I hate fuckin' Richmond!!!  We see the sign for the show and it reads SSJR!  Whatever the fuck that means!!!?!?!?  So we're in the bar and the band only gets 2 pitchers of beer and free food!  Geezus man!  The 2 pitchers were gone in like 10 minutes!  So that was my drunken escapade!  Fawk it, I mean, Fuck it!!!

Well, first up, due to this last minute show, we have Richmond's own, Roper!  Don't ask!  I don't know who the fuck these guys were and at the same time, don't care!  Enough said!  But I did talk to the drummer and due to the fact that they were shitty in my book, they had been playin' for 2 years or probably more and it was pretty shitty, what do you expect from Richmond?  I didn't expect anything more!  I tuned them out when I was drinkin' beer!  I had Pabst blue ribbon on my mind!

Secondly, we have the JRSS or in the dyslexic-ass Richmond, SSJR or what I called the fuckin' SS Minnow, whatever you call it, it was rocknfuckin'roll!  Too rockin' for Richmond because we scared everybody outta the bar!  Pretty sad because it rocked and it was our second show!  Richmond sucks!

Thirdly, we have Jimmy and the Teasers from North Carolina!  All I have to say is there's this guy with 3 hot chicks in the band!  Okay, the drummer wasnt really that hot, but when she got behind the kit, whooo, all I can say is that when you see some 38C big boobies shakin' and blonde hair, hey, she was hot!!!  And the rhythm guitarist and bass player where hot with their cheerleading outfits!  MMMMM....MMMMM.....GOODNESS!!!

At the end of the show, the Teasers were puttin' on a show for the last drunks in the bar with the hullahoops!  OH YEAH!  If my zine was Hustler, I would've given this show a FULL-ERECT rating!

Nancy and the Knockers, JRSS, The Runarounds @ Cruzers, Friday, November 1st, 2002
Drink, Smoke, Fuck, Fight!!!  As stated by Nancy from Nancy and the Knockers, the band from Richmond!  I can dig it!  Punk rock from Richmond with the Knockers belting out some tunes at the Cruzers joint!  They played many songs in such a short time almost like a Ramones set!  Kinda like Joey Ramone startin off the set like this, Its great to be back in NOOOOR-FOLK!, take it Dee-Dee, (1,2,3,4!), Thank you, Goodnight!  They played a fast and tight set!  I was in front of the bass player, Tammy, checkin her out and getting her revved up while she was playing!  I also caught up with them recording in some studio out in Chesapeake the next day and interviewed the band.  Great set of some of knockers music from Richmond punk rock!

Next up, we have the JRSS or if yer from Richmond, SSjr.!  Oh well!  Great set of some parts unknown rocknroll from the ex-strap-ons/gonowheres + ex-man, Stevie and the other ex-man, you add beer and then you rocknfuckin roll!  A great rocknroll set!

Finally, you have the Runarounds from North Carolina!  Johnny Psycho finally brought back the Gibson Les Paul Junior!  Nice to see the someone playin one again!  Keepin the Thunders tradition alive!  They had a new drummer keepin the beat in the back (he mentioned to me that it was his 3rd show!)  I told him that it was the JRSS 3rd show as well!  And with that in mind, the Friday night show at Cruzers was great!  Not many people, but at least 30 of them paid!  Oh and we cant forget the bass player of the Runarounds, the hot and sexy Angela with her new Gibson Nikki Sixx bass!  She looked so hot with the blonde streaks in her hair and her, her.lemme stop!

Runarounds/The JRSS/Nancy And The Knockers - 11/01/02 @ Cruzer's, Norfolk, VA -- Gunther 8544
Located directly across from the now-vacated Ghent Inn (now I know why Will Fosters hasn't shown his...uh...mug about town lately), Cruzer's is one of the last places you'd expect to hear rock 'n' roll.  A merchant marine club specializing in Flipino dishes like pancit (still can't tell ya what that is exactly, even after having it explained to me several times) and catering to an older crowd, this wide-open room with no dividers in sight would appear too conservative for the loud-fast-rules legislation of rawk.  Guess again. With the demise of Cogone's Instant Art, Cruzer's has emerged a victor in providing a late-night home for some of Nawfuck's wildest denizens as well as furnishing a temporary crash pad for out-o'-towners.  Draft beers are pro bono to the performers (and those pretending to be), giving them the acumen to strum 'n' drum at their best.  Strolling through the hallowed entrance at approximately nine-fifteen in the pee em, my stick people Holly and Sambone RNRMF were sipping their respective lager and pilsner (Miller Lite, right 'Bones?) on stools which needed major reupholstering.  Sad but true, the era of Metallica most suited to professional wrassler Stone Cold Steve Austin's taste (the '96 el pee with a "Load"-ed title on many levels) was treating royally on the sound system and crowning the three of us "King Nothings." "OH, HELL NO!" I beckoned to the Majesties of Mandatorily-Shorn Manes, relinquishing my loser headgear in exchange for the gaudier outfits of Kiss and The 'Coop (thanks to whomever changed discs).  During the opening stanzas of "Mainline," another pal of mine, known to all at the West Beach Cafe as Alex, gave me some "whaddups" and the results of his band's placing at a "Battle of the Bands" which had taken place inside a joint spotlighted in a recent Em Tee Vee (c)rap video.  At the bar counter, Cruzer's answer to Outback Steakhouse's bloomin' onions was waiting to be marked with bicuspids.  I started a time clock to see how long the fried-food platter would remain unclaimed.  With a glance at Alex's Value City-purchased Roll-X, the countdown to cholesteric consumption began.  So did the trial of the first band on the docket.

Submitting punk rawk 'n' roll evidence bringing to mind the likes of 'member-dem favorites such as The Loudmouths and Stinkerbell with a HC flavor in spots (Germs, perhaps?) shaped by a (thanx, Alex) "Poly Stryene-vocal unintelligibleness," Nancy And The Knockers from parts RichMan, Vee Aye testified on behalf of unabashed women everywhere.  Though the 'Knockers had presented their case with gusto, the deliberators were stalled in chambers.  Siding with the ladies was a bespectacled Caucasian in his late-fifties.  Despite the screeching from amplifiers and speakers, Mister (A) had casually enjoyed at least three plates of food from Cruzer's menu as if he'd been the only one present in the dining area.  An opposing viewpoint came from a very skilled pool player with the shot-making abilities of former world 9-ball champion Efren Reyes.  Mister (B)'s perpetual table run-out had been interrupted by Nancy and her comrades. Through the entirety of the 'Knockers set, he'd covered his ears in protest. Alex blamed the differences on the fall equinox (also known as Samhain in some circles), but whom can we shoulder the forty-minutes-left-untouched bloomin' onions upon?  I, for one, am familiar with the culinary habits of Glenn Danzig and John Christ.  They prefer 'em raw.

The JRSS (that's read, "The Junior Ess Ess," for those playing along virtually) are Tidewater's latest supagroup, composed of four talented virtuosos: (J)ustin with the bass mastering, (R)ich on the tater skins with baked-potato appeal, (S)tevie not-so-secretly playin' some devilish guitar, and (S)ambone freely grabbing the mic and BFTs on vox.  For the past six or seven years, I've been accustomed to seeing Mr. RNRMF with clutched axe per his stints in Big Bobby And The Nightcaps and the more-recent Horehounds. Sam, who will one day own more guitars than Rick Nielsen (ever play a double-neck?), is already in a comfort zone as a frontman.  Shaking a tambourine and maracas along with the rockin' sounds, he and the band glammed 'n' glittered their way through ten numbas best described as an amalgamation of "It's Only Rock 'N' Roll"-era Stones and Sweet's one-two punch of "Desolation Blvd."/"Give Us A Wink."  Highlights not for children included a slow 'n' sleazy "Golddigger," the tributary "End Of The Ramones," and the penile trilogy of "Pleased To Meat You," the D-Boys' "Caught With The Meat In Your Mouth," and the Chinn/Chapman-penned "Little Willy."  Way past one and feelin' alright, there was one more act to see before calling it a night.

Hailing from somewhere in North Carolina, a place where Furginians drive hours-long to save a coupla cents on cigarettes and which surprisingly shares a small border with Georgia, the Runarounds upended Manowar as the loudest band in the world on this nite.  Mixing the usual-suspect drinks from Dee-troit with the riff-raff tonic of NWOBHM stalwarts Saxon and Tygers Of Pan Tang, "Self Destruction Kick," "Out Drinkin' Again" (ably assisted by Holly and Greg Apostle/Unabomer on gang vocals), "Sick And Tired," and "Hell And Back" were served up shaken in dirty glasses.  A sixty-year-old lady stepped outta the kitchen to see and hear what the fuss was about.  Perhaps, she too, was a NWOBHM mark who fancies the flexi version of Def Lep's "Rocks Off" over the "On Through The Night" album take.  Next time I'm Cruzin', I'll loan ya my U.K. heavy metal comp tape.  You've gotta hear Girlschool's "Demolition Girl" and that "struck me like a sledgehammer" hit.

JRSS, The Unabombers @ Matt Malloys, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Saturday, November 23, 2002
Saturday night and I'm doin' drunken interviews for my zine, The DIRT! and there's a show at Chips Ahoy and we've got 2 bands on the bill, JRSS and The Unabombers!  First up, we have the JRSS pullin' out a rockin' set in the dark in front of Drummer Richie Rich Ramone Radzinsky's workplace, the BBC, Bubbamint Beach Club with the best hot wings on the east coast or in Richie's words, THE WHOLE FRICKIN' WORLD!  Richie's got this thing about world dominance for the Hampton Roads area!  Hie Hot Wing Hitler!!!  When he's not drummin' or deejayin', he's shovin' hot wings down everybody's throat with some fuckin' tabasco sauce from the BBC scorchin' everybody's colon with the wings of death!  Yeah, I think the wings range from mild, medium, hot, super hot, hot to trot, gotdam mama is hot, to nuclear bloody colon cotton swab!  Well, this same show will be there at the BBC in 2 weeks on a Thursday night, the eve of Sambone's 30th birthday on December 5th, 2002, so be there if you weren't at this show and if you were at this show, get some hot wings and stuff 'em down yer fawkin' throat!!!  Why?  'Cause Richie sez so!!!  Anyways, back to the JRSS!  Well, we had to change up the set list because we didn't want it all to sound like the same shit everytime we play out!  But that totally threw off the J in the band, AKA, 'Jay Dub'!  But when you get lost, you've gotta either stop or look at where everybody's at and then recover!  Stevie managed to cut himself on his guitar strings and bled all over his new 2002 Gibson Flying V Faded Cherry Guitar!  All in all, the set was great!  Lotsa fun and support from the BBC!  They could've at least brought us some wings!  They had their whole staff there supportin' Richie!  That was cool!

Well, the Unabombers started up and the BBC was gone and that was pretty much half the crowd!  But they still rocked out some tunes!  Always my favorite, 'Tears on my pillow!'  Trey's Marshall kept cuttin' out on him and that's gotta be a real pisser!  That's my worst nightmare!  Oh fuckin' well!

I did manage to get some good audio footage for the 1st audio version of The DIRT, so the tape is a keeper!  But be sure to join us again, the very show in 2 weeks at Bubba's Beach Club on 17th st across from the Underground on December 5, 2002, thursday with the JRSS and the Unabombers!  HOT WINGS!!!

JRSS, The Unabombers @ Bubba's Beach Club, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Thursday, December 5, 2002
The last day of my roarin fawkin twenties!  The last day of being twenty-nine!  The eve of my thirtieth birthday!  And where do I get to celebrate?  Bubbas Beach Club!  Oh, no!  No hot wings for me!  I noticed in the restrooms that there werent any cotton swabs to wipe my ass if I did want to get the hot wings!  Fuck it man!  I had a Bubbas Beach Burger!  It was pretty good!  It was a crabcake on top of a burger with cheese!  I aint really into crabmeat, but it wasnt really that bad at all!  Great service I can tell ya that!  The waitress was almost pourin the fuckin beers in my mouth!  Well, Bubbas never had bands to my knowledge of the place being in existence since the 40s and wherever the place has been for that amount of time!  So we were the guinea pigs, well, actually, the Unabombers were the guinea pigs!  They helped us, set the levels for the vocals when the JRSS had to come up!  Which brings me to the fuckin show review!

The Unabombers were up first and the first to test Bubbas on this memorial Thursday night and b-day bash!  Yep, no vocals, or there were vocals, but the drums were too loud, or no real soundman, or you had a drummer running the sound or who the fuck knows?!?  And on top of that, they blow a fuse!  Right on, now thats rockin like Dokken with some high voltage rocknfuckinroll!!!  Finally, after pretty much their whole set, the vocals came back, I think after Stevie got in the sound booth and tweeked some knobs if not his own nipples!  It was very dark in there as well!  They had every tv on in the place and I think thats what overloaded the circuits!  They finally turned off the tvs as well as the big screen one which was just in time for Elimidate, this show which has this guy who has to pick one chick outta...fuck it, we didnt get to what it!  Oh well, they did their set and we had some G. Wise commentary in the key of Vinnie Barbarino!  Always entertaining!

Next and hopefully not least, the JRSS!  They did their usual rocknroll set with the Hot wing Hitler on the drums, J-dub on the bass, Sambone on the vocals and tamborines and maracas and Stevie B on the guitars and backup vocals on Golddigger!  It was also dark for our set as well!  The JRSS did played a new song entitled, Nothin to lose which they had just learned 2 days prior and it came out pretty good!

Well, what can you do?  It was a cold Thursday night on December 5, 2002 and I wanted to get drunk on my b-day and I got free food and beer and played some rocknroll with a PA in the tune of Cogans and Cruzers!  These kind of venues need a soundman!  But when the bands aint gittin paid, then there aint no money for the soundman!  Thats what I boils down to!  But there will be more rocknroll shows here in December and the new year to come, so look out and rock out with yer cock out, motherfuckers!!!!

The Dirty Fingers, JRSS, Thee Apostles @ Cruzers, Norfolk, Virginia, Saturday, February 15, 2003.
Alright, it's a shitty day here in the Tidewater area because of the fawkin' rain! Yeah, well, it was snowin' in some other parts of the Virginia, like Charlottesville to be exact and to be exactly exact, that's were the drummer and bass player from the Dirty Fingers are from and due to the fact that it was snowin', they didn't wanna come down for the show due to the fact that they would have to drive in the snow! Well, I heard otherwise, but what the fuck can you do? Pretty much nothin'! So it was a no show for The Dirty Fingers! Scotto showed up at least! Yeah, I came to the bar early and discover Norfolk's forgotten guitar hero!?! drinkin' the free beer on the Dirty Fingers tab! Dirty Fingers? Exactly! He's got the dirtiest fingers in the book!

Oh well, so the JRSS came up and played a set for the lovely people of Norfolk who actually came out to the show! Amazin' fuckin' grace! Yeah, I play in this band and I thought it was a great set! The band hadn't played out since Dec 5th at Bubba's Beach club and it was high time to play out again! Rich even had his work staff from Bubba's out there supporting him or giving him an intervention or whatever! I was just upset due to the fact that he had his work staff there, from the Bubba's Beach Club and it's known for the best hot wings on the fawkin' planet and they couldn't even bring us a 6-piece, something! Oh well!

Next and hopefully, not last, we have THEE APOSTLES! I hadn't seen them in awhile and they had the show with Billy England who was an ex-Strap-on/Pimp, the man who helped start it all with those band and he was playin' second guitar to E-rock! They played a great set in memory of the late great Johnny Thunders, belting out 'Seven Day Weekend' and 'Born to lose'! I still missed the Elvis Presley cover of 'Suspicious Minds'! You can't go wrong with a little Elvis! Sounded great with the 2 guitars!

JRSS & Born in Flames + Freddy Lynxx @ Bubba's Beach Club, Virginia Beach, Saturday, February 22, 2003
Okay, Kitties! It's Saturday night and I'm on vacation and these cats from France are here to play rocknroll! And where else? I don't know! Oh yeah, down at the BBC! Bubba's Beach Club that is!!! So I'm on vacation hangin' out at Steveland Studios in Chesapeake and Stevie has this French band, Born in Flames as well as French Rocknroll Superstar, Freddy Lynxx! It was very nice to meet them all and finally get to hear them play some rocknroll!

Well, in light of the whole band disasters from this week alone, the show wasn't a total disaster! None at all, NO PYRO at all! I wanted to have a video of stuff playin' on the big screen tv while we played, but that was a no-go! All it was was some bondage video! Oh well!

First off, we have the band of the night, Born in flames! These guys play some american rocknroll from a french perspective! Very good rocknroll, I might add! Lots of energy! Great guitar playin', drumming, singing, in English, I might add and great bass playing! If they rocked as hard as they did last night, then they probably rock harder in France and Europe for that matter!!! The sound was more of an AC/DC sound to me! They did a Motorhead song and a Vibrators song which totally rocked! Totally nice guys and great rocknrollers!!!! They are recording an album at Steveland and it rocks! Viva La France!

Next up, I was asked by Freddy Lynxx to do a couple songs with Steve Baise on bass and Frenck, the drummer from Born in Flames! We belted out 4 Johnny Thunders' songs with ease and no cheese! Freddy Lynxx is like the French Johnny Thunders! There are many Johnny Thunders fans, but there are very few who capture the Thunders mystique! Very great guitar player from France, Freddy Lynxx! It was great for me to jump back on guitar for the first time since the Horehounds Final Fiasco show in August of 2002! We belted out songs like Pipeline, I love you, Pirate love and Chatterbox! Great set and an honor to play with Freddy Lynxx!
Finally, we have the JRSS runnin' thru the setlist like everybody's gotta shit hot wings out their asses! They didn't play the whole setlist but they sounded great! Well, I play in the band and I was drunk off my ass! But I think we kept it together as much as possible! I didn't have to shit hot wings! I felt great! I managed to record the whole show which came out pretty good!

In conclusion to this review, I have realized that I have recorded in the studio with Born In Flames and Freddy Lynxx and when I was in the Nightcaps, we did a song which was on a compilation along with Born in Flames' other band, Witcherry Wild and Freddy Lynxx! Amazing Fuckin' Grace!!!! Who knew this would happen?!?! Oh well, ROCKNROLLMOTHERFUCKERS!!!! WHOO!

Born In Flames
These cats are from France and they know how to rocknfuckin'roll! And they proved it! In the studio and live as well! These guys pay homage to the legendary Steve Baise by coming over from France to record at Steveland Studios in Chesapeake, Virginia, USA! They have total respect for him due to the fact that he was in the Devildogs and many other bands and toured Europe many times and has recorded and produced some of the best rocknroll bands in the world! Born In Flames chose Steve Baise to record their album and had him play guitar on it as well! They let me do some background vocals too! Pretty cool! Total rocknroll band in the vein of AC/DC, Motorhead, Rose Tattoo, and other rockin' bands come to mind! I was in the studio and even though they all spoke french, they all communicated and collaborated on every song! The live show was great as well! Great stage presence! Almost like watchin' AC/DC! Even though I've never seen AC/DC! But that's what came to my mind! Total rocknroll!!!!

Freddy Lynxx
Now this cat has been around for years! I'm not sayin' he's old, but he's shared the stage with the likes of the Late Great Johnny Thunders, Jeff Dahl, Kevin K, and other rocknrollers around the globe! He had a band called the Jet Boys which was even approved by Johnny Thunders himself!!! His biggest influence is Johnny Thunders! He was even here in the US tryin' to find a Gibson Les Paul TV! (Les Paul Junior in TV yellow finish). Yeah, too bad he couldn't find one, he had to break down and settle for 10 days here in the US of A with Jack Daniels (pronounced *Jacque Dan-yels!*) and some American Pornos! Oh well, ce la vie!!! Very great guitar player! Watchin' him and seeing him play was great! And it was an honor to share the stage with him when he came to the BBC (bubba's Beach club) in Virginia Beach! He's done many records and has played guitar on other rocknrollers' albums and records!!! A name you can't forget in France and pretty much all of Europe! Viva Freddy Lynxx!

IN FRENCH (translation by Franck Belin)
Born In Flames
Vive Freddy Lynxx !

JRSS
Here is some new information you might wanna know about this band, whether you need to know it or not!  I really dont give a fuck!  But we at The DIRT or just me, pretty much joke everybody and everything, because I can!  I have come up with names for people I know as well as people everybody might know!  For example in this band, JRSS, the J is for Justin who plays bass, R is for Rich who plays drums, S is for Stevie who plays guitar and sings and the other S is for Sambone who sings and plays guitar!  If you didnt know what the fuck it stood for!  Or Junior SS!  I dont know, I didnt come up with this!  But in the past to the current time, Ive called people in this band different names, for instance, Stevie just had a kid recently and I call him, Big Daddy!  A name which is fitting and appropriate!  Justin, the stud man, I call him TWE which stands for The Walking Erection!  Rich, Ive called him many names due to the fact that not only does he play in the JRSS, he works for Bubbas Beach Club, he djs and bartends there as well!  I called him the Hot Wing Hitler, or hes known as Richie Rich!  I know that he and Justin like Star Wars and I have come up with a new name for him, Bubba Fett!  And I think Justin will be known as Jango Fett!  Names which are both fitting and appropriate!

The End of the JRSS!
Well, the horehounds recorded 13 songs in a weekend!  The JRSS didn't quite make it!  We first recorded some songs back in 2002 and only 2 of the songs are complete.  It was kinda weird when this band got started.  I wasn't practicing with the Horehounds, but I had decided to start up a new band with the rhythm section of the Strap-ons.  It didn't happen until about 3-4 months later when we all finally got together and Stevie played guitar with us and I stepped down and just sang.  Our first show was pretty much next to the last show of the Horehounds.  The whole reason why I even started up the JRSS was to have a new Horehounds!  But I didn't really want to play any of the horehounds songs at all.  Anyways, I'll explain the whole concept of the JRSS.  J was for Justin, who played bass, but wasn't really that good at bass.  I think he could learn bass lines and runs, but he wasn't really an effective bass player, by that, I'm saying that he couldn't really improvise at all.  The R was for Rich, the drummer who took on bookin' shows and dj'ing for a club and had too much on his plate for him to handle and it made his head way too big for anybody and himself.  His drum style was fueled by mostly metal and his style never quite fit the style I wanted to for the JRSS.  Stevie is a bass player playin' guitar and he did a good job with that and the music direction of the band, being the fawkin' Maestro and gettin' the rhythm section going on!  I just sang and didn't play guitar at all!  Together, with only practicing once a week, that was all you heard, a band which only practiced once a week!  It wasn't always all together, but I think we pulled it off the best way we could!  If R wasn't talkin' about sports or Star wars, he was goin' on and on about his Strap-ons lifestyle which always seemed to be some stupid story about playin' in some laudromat in south carolina!  We didn't do too many shows, but we did what we could with what we had.  It's really hard to make people play rocknroll, if that's not what they are all about!  When you don't have rocknroll roots, then you can't really play rocknroll.  Justin and Rich didn't have rocknroll roots!  They were about the bands who sounded like the Ramones, but didn't have a single Ramones album in their collection!  And wearing a Johnny Thunders T-shirt told people that he was a fan, but didn't own a Johnny Thunders album or even heard of LAMF!  Or even the New York Dolls!  I know what they know and it's not rocknroll!  It's Star Wars and Football!  And in my opinion, it's not about cool music!  Playin' the cool music or even listening to cool music!  What can you do?  Pretty much nothing!  There were many goals for this band, but they didn't all seem to agree with all the members.  Star Wars and Sports have nothing to do with Rocknroll at all!  Star Wars and Sports are fantasy!  Star wars is make believe!  Sports is make believe unless you are actively out there playin' fuckin' football and makin' some fuckin' coin!

Before the smoke all cleared, the band pretty much only lasted 5 months, recorded 3 songs that never got released anywhere and pretty much didn't play many shows outta town, pretty much only 7 shows!  It was cool when it was going on, but it can't go on forever!  I'm glad I made only stickers for this band!  I think I'm gonna go back to just promoting myself!  Gettin' stickers for the bands I play in are too risky, it's almost like gettin' a tattoo with yer girlfriend's name, not good!

The life and death of JRSS
Just when I thought I could string the junkies around as far as I could and pretty much did, it went too far! I couldn't take the constant pickin' up the band, waiting for them to score shit, showing up to shows with no equipment because they pawned it, and then sounding like shit because they were fucked up, it went too far! When I put the Horehounds to rest, I called upon replacements! Someone who didn't have the similar problems and drama! I found that in the rhythm section of the ex-Strap-ons, Justin and Rich! They were to be the new replacements for the Horehounds! But I didn't want to play the same Horehounds stuff and I really didn't want to be called the Horehounds! The Horehounds was a short lived band with members who had really bad habits and should've been called the Scorehounds!!! But after months of just talkin' about it, finally it came about, we booked some rehearsal time at a local studio with Stevie. We got in there and Stevie asked if he could sit in on the guitar and he did, hence the birth of the JRSS! I'm gonna keep this short and sweet! The life of the band only lasted close to 7 months. We only practiced once a week if we were lucky due to our work schedules! We played less than 10 shows and recorded about 3 songs! It was fun when it happend. I got to sing and not play guitar. But the direction of the band was no going where I wanted it to go, pretty much nowhere! It was a very short lived band with no releases! A pretty sad, sob story!
J is for Jazzy Justin on Bass, well only live!  He played a Fender Jazz bass!  Played in other bands I don't want to mention!

R is for Richie Rich on drums, live and studio!  AKA the Hot wing Hitler!  Got this name when he was in a hot wing tasting contest and he sat on a hot wing and guessed correctly that it was honey mustard!

$ is for $tevie on guitars and vocals live and studio and bass!  If you don't know this guy, just forget it!

S is for Sambone on vocals, maracas, tambourines live and studio and wrote the songs!  Was in the Nightcaps and helped propel this band and then became founder of the Horehounds band and formed this band!

Junior SS or JRSS!
