EPISODE ONE, APRIL 4, 2001

We stranded the house guests in the BIG Brother House on April 1, 2001.  The house is wired with video and audio surveillance to allow BIG Brother to observe every move and hear every word uttered by the Losers...er….house guests.  After the house guests (Benedict Rick, Tommy Jurich, Crummy Denny, Johnelle Smith, C.M. Newton, Billy Reed, Terry Meiners, Pat Forde, and President Shumaker) were secured in the house, we erected a secured privacy fence.  The house guests are not permitted to go outside of the boundaries of the security fence during their stay.  Here are the highlights from the first few days in the BIG Brother House:

Crummy and Tommy are already having conflict.  For months, these two have been dragging each other through the mud, publicly and privately, and the close confines of the BIG Brother House will do nothing to ease the tensions between these two.  The first conflict between these two involved Crummy's pet goat, Pervis.  Crummy usually sleeps with Pervis, but because of the limited space in the House (four bedrooms - 2 persons to each bedroom plus the guests voted on the first day that Terry Meiners could sleep in the bath tub), Jurich suggested that Pervis sleep outside.  Crum flew into a rage and lashed out at Jurich.  His words were incomprehensible, though we did discern the phrases "stupid oaf" and "whore-mongering idiot" in Crummy's diatribe.  President Shumaker (or "Shu" as he is called by the house guests) tried to step in and calm down the angry Crummy, only to have Crummy slap Shu so hard that his glasses flew across the BIG Brother living room.  Since this incident, Crummy and Pervis have been living outside together near the boundary of the security fence.

The BIG Brother House, like most in Loserville, is not equipped with electricity or running water.  The guests will have to use candles for light, and fire to cook.  Water must be drawn from a well in the back yard.  Johnelle was overheard commenting that someone other than he should be responsible for drawing the water and building the fire because such "is a man's job and not something that I am accustomed to doing".  Terry Meiners reminded everyone that he used to be a crew chief and line cook at "McDonald's" and that he would be glad to be in charge of meal preparation.  Nevertheless, the guests will have to complete certain tasks given to them by BIG Brother to earn more food, or else they will face empty cupboards in the near future.  Tommy mentions that he doesn't look forward to having to take "whore's baths" since there is no running water, when Pat Forde reminds him that a "whore's bath" is just what he needs.  In the BIG Brother confessional, where only BIG Brother is listening, Billy Reed confesses that he has hidden several candy bars in one of his body cavities, and that he does not intend to share if the other guests run out of food.

Benedict announces to everyone that he has brought a copy of his self-described masterpiece, "Success is a Choice" into the house with him.  Ever the Benedict brown noser, C.M. suggests that everyone gather around the candlelight during the evening and listen to Benedict read aloud from his book.  When only Tommy and C.M. show up for Benedict's reading, Benedict becomes visibly upset.  C.M. and Tommy try to console Rick and ensure him that the others are just tired and meant no disrespect (except for Crummy), when Pitino interrupted and stated, "I am to be worshipped and adored at all times by those in my presence.  The actions of the other house guests this evening are nothing less than blasphemy.  To be honest with you, I'm considering leaving BIG Brother and Loserville all together."

The next evening, John L. appears for dinner as his alter ego, "Johnelle".  Complete with a show-girl wig, scant make-up, a leopard print short skirt, and tank top, Johnelle captured everyone's attention with his entrance.  Over the course of dinner, Billy Reed is observed playing "footsey" with Johnelle.  Could this be the beginning of a very special relationship?

The first few days for the house guests in the BIG Brother House have been eventful -- Crummy has isolated himself from the others; Tommy, Benedict, and C.M. appear to be forming an alliance; love is unexpectedly blossoming between Johnelle and Billy; as usual, no one cares about Terry Meiners; and President Shumaker was assaulted by Crummy.  And this is only the beginning of the BIG Brother experience…
