During the war, Pete was a good-natured mouse catcher who lived and worked in a grocery store located in New York's Morningside Heights region. Due to his uncanny resemblance to the now long dead dictator, an evidently patriotic shopper took one look at the friendly feline and, without giving it a second thought, soccer punted the poor cat in the muzzle, splintering his jaw.

Pete is dead now, but his short-lived Nazi reign over the mice of New York will forever be remembered.
