How do I feel about Religion?
That's an interesting question. Myself, I feel that fundies and atheists have one thing in common: Neither seems able to seperate religion and faith. Fundies don't need to. Atheists have problems with organized religion, so throw off God entirely. Why? They say those are his teachings, but they say a lot of things.
Religion served its purpose a long time ago. It taught people morals, guidlines on how to live their lives. But I want you to think for a minute. Many people say that the Bible is literal. Seven days and all that. But you need to remember that this was a time before real knowledge. Back when people thought mice came from hay. If God really did have people write the Bible, he dumbed it down and geared it towards their society so it would be accepted. I doubt if God wanted us to still believe it today.
The morals, yes. But literal interpretation? Don't make me laugh!
Religion promotes feeling instead of thinking. In this way, you give up your individuality. You stop thinking, and turn into a puppet, ready to be pulled along by them, to do whatever they're told, act however they're told.
Religion is brainwashing, and I love being an individual.
