Bonita 3, Los Altos 1
Bonita finally got the upper hand against the Conquerors today.  Despite mustering only 3 hits on the game, Bonita was able to finally get a win against starting pitcher Daniel Sandello.

Dewhurst efficiently went through the Conqueror lineup, as he pitched a complete game giving up only one run on five hits, a walk and a hit by pitch. In the 3rd inning, Los Altos had a chance when Bonita made an error to give the Conquerors its first baserunner, but catcher Mario Romero was caught stealing while Eddie Tomsio and Adrian Cota were left stranded after a hit-by-pitch and walk, respectively.

In the 6th inning, Los Altos got one more crack against Dewshurst. With one
out, Jason Estrada singled up the middle and advanced to second base on a wild pitch.  Sandello was able to work the count to his favor and an induced an important walk to give cleanup hitter Matt Chambers a chance to drive in a run.  And sure enough, Chambers drove a pitch to right-center field for a basehit, putting the Conquerors on the board.  Sophomore Jesus Sanchez  nearly tied the game with a double of his own, but a diving stop by rightfielder Terry Tucker turned the would-be two-bagger into a twin killing as Sandello was doubled off at second base to end the Conqueror threat and also effectively ended Los Altos' chance to sweep the season series against Bonita.

Starter Sandello (3-3) went 4 innings and gave up 3 earned runs on only one hit.  Bonita was able to maximize what little offense that it generated to defeat Los Altos on its home field.  Ahumada came in and pitched a solid 3 innings of relief, facing the minimum 9 batters in shutting down Bonita. But alas, it was too late.

Los Altos hopes to battle back with a strong showing against Garey High
School next week.
