Coach Jibin Park
Entering his second season with the Los Altos baseball program, Coach Jibin Park led the JV squad in 2003 to a 12-8 record and a close second-place finish behind Bonita High School in the Miramonte League.  Season highlights included a three-game series sweep against rival Charter Oak.  This year, Park will serve as the Varsity outfield and first-base coach. In addition, he will serve as the webmaster and game summary writer for the Los Altos baseball website.

After winning Athlete of the Year, Team MVP and First-team all-league honors at Whitney High School, Park attended the University of California, Berkeley, for a brief semester before transferring to Claremont McKenna College in the spring of 1998. He played four years for Coach Randy Town and the
CMS Stags mainly as a middle relief pitcher.  His claim to fame at the school, however, did not involve any pitching at all.  In his only collegiate at-bat, Park drove a 3-2 hanging curveball deep into Cal Techs fenceless left field and proceeded to hit an inside-the-park-homerun.

Coach Park teaches economics and civics at Los Altos and will be attending Cal State Fullerton in Fall 2004 to pursue a masters degree in economics. This summer, he will travel to Latin America as an assistant coach for the
Athletes in Action baseball squad, which is the athletic ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ.
