I have found that the community way of using supplies works best in a first grade classroom and teaches children to work together! I ask that everyone sends in the supplies listed below and they will be distributed when needed. We WILL NOT use pencil boxes, so do not worry about getting one! The following supplies will be necessary as they are used a great deal:
3 boxes of 48 crayons
1 clean white tee shirt that fits your child.
1 box of tissues
1 box of washable color markers
At least 12 glue sticks (The children will use them several times a day, and Wal-Mart has 6 packs for around $1.50.
At least 30 pencils (They usually come in packs of 10--the plain yellow kind please!)
A black and white composition (like the old time ones) notebook for our Poetry.
1 Spiral notebook with 150 pages each (This will be for a journal).
1 box of baby wipes
1 colored (2-pocket) portfolio with bindings in the middle (they are around 10 cents at Wal-mart)
A book bag with your child�s name written visibly on the bag, preferably without wheels.
$7.00 Textbook fee (Administered by Southwood).
$2.00 a month Special Projects fee. This includes math activities involving food, raising our own butterflies, and many other themed science and social studies activities. This may be paid in full ($20.00), in half portions ($10.00 in August, $10.00 in January), or $2.00 a month.

1 box of Gallon Size Storage Bags

1 bottle of Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel (Purell Anti-bacterial Hand Lotion Kind is best)
