Trusth (Trust and truth)
Her eyes stung with uncried tears,
Her heart thumped, as through her tender years.
She closed her eyes, shutting out her fears,
There was no meaning of her staying here.

She thought of the emotions rushing through her head,
She longed to run, to find shelter and shade.
She thought of the day, where she, he had laid,
And upon her lips planted a kiss near the flowerbed.

How her childish mind reeled when he confessed he loved her,
And how she'd been deceived to be as trusting as she were.
She remembered how he looked so handsome as he leered,
At her when he barged in on her in a robe so sheer.

How foolish she had been to actually love him,
And fall so unknowingly into his purposeful scheme.
But his gaze full of regret as he said he did not mean,
Any harm to her, or anything as it may have seemed.

Her heart softened as that thought came to mind,
Could it be true it wasn't the end of the line?
Her heart again swelled when she recalled his kind,
Gentle touch, that made her eyes shine.

With a gentle sigh, she went for a moonlight stroll,
Then without her coat she shivered in the cold.
Her thoughts then wandered to the touch of his so bold,
And longed to have him near, for her to tightly hold.

She sat upon the grass and stared into the sky,
And she whispered softly, "I wish you never did lie."
She heard a twig snap, then heard a tired sigh,
As he looked into her eyes and began to tell her why.

A scheme it was at first to avenge his father dear,
For his father loved him much, and cared him through the years.
He shook his head regretfully and she saw eyes full of tears,
As he said that through this time, he had learned to love her.

She erupted with tearful joy at his honest confession,
And found herself refuge in his arms from confusion.
They were together after that, in loving union,
And she lived happily ever after with her wonderful husband.
